I start everyday, no matter what is going on that day, by saying "Today is going to be a great day!" And at some point during the day, it is going to be a great day, and I find something, someone that makes it an amazing day. And you need to be your own best cheerleader. Get out those Poms Poms!!

I don't know why but this made me cry - I have been so hateful and mean toward myself. I'm going to try doing this, even if i cry every day, until I can start celebrating and honoring that person in the mirror. The last young man, and her conversation with him really spoke to my soul; especially when he said, (paraphrased) "No amount of love is going to fill the yearning our soul requires from us - and when do we work daily on being in love with that person in the mirror who's been through so much, but is still standing?" Bless each and every one of us who is still standing.

This single mom working two jobs will start today! We HAVE to connect with ourselves at least once a day for a few minutes. Otherwise we’re caught right up in the whirlwind that is our lives. We NEED this. And a moment of quiet sitting. Just a moment. It’s so easy to pass up a practice once, then it’s gone for good and we’re back to the same old hustle. Lots of love 💕

You can DO it hun! Everything will be ok. I'm a single mother of 4 (was 6. Lost 2 of my babies early in life. I was beaten so badly 3 days after having a baby. Their father then proceeded to try to set the house on fire with us all in. Everyone didn't make it out but I tried my BEST. Half of my body is burnt, melted. Ugly, scarred. Will always be. Once I realized I was too weak to go back and get the last 2 I snapped. I got the strength to make it to my car and get my gun and I blew that evil SOB head off right in front of my kids. I Traumatized my babies and I feel like absolute shit. I went to prison for 3 yrs and left them alone in a time they needed me most. I was raped in prison a few times by guards. I was at rock bottom. Once released I went to get my kids and it was a no go. Broke my heart. Instead of fighting I gave up and became a fentanyl addict. Ended up homeless. I mean just a bottom of the barrel ass human. I hated myself. I wanted to just end it all but my soul refused to die. Here I am now 2yrs clean. I have my babies back. And I'm building myself and my life back again. Anything is possible! If I can do it I KNOW anyone can. I believe in you! Just pull yourself up and keep moving forward no matter what. You are beautiful, you are strong, you WILL overcome!!!! 💜 I commented because of the purple heart. I use it all the time. My favorite color. God bless you!

I was coming from the bedroom to the kitchen passing a large mirror above a cabinet and thought, I think I'll try it -- I will high-five myself. But won't think of anything because if I do, it will be disappointment in myself and dislike for myself. So I just stopped, looked quickly at my image and high-fived it -- I saw a 72 year old woman I've been loathing look back at me with eyes that love me and she smiled at me. All in a few seconds -- I saw a nice lady who loves me as I high-fived, me!

I've started using intermittent fasting with my keto diet. It's the easiest thing to do, I think because it falls under the 5 second rule. Since I don't have to DO anything--I don't have to make food. I don't have to make choices about food. This has been a great way for me to lose weight and be healthier. I have been eating one meal a day and have never felt better. I get up and exercise (Tai Chi) instead of filling my face with food. I make a decision about one meal a day instead of making dozens of decisions. This has helped me to have more time to make the 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 decisions that are really important.

It's so weird, I had a similar experience looking in the mirror. I'm often my toughest critic; I'm 43 & sometimes look in the mirror & notice all the same things Mel said, how I'm aging & my face is changing, how I'm late & don't have my sh*t together that day, etc. But I've always known that I really, really do Love myself. One night, I had smoked a little bit of weed and I was in the bathroom looking in the mirror & for some reason, I smiled at myself. Suddenly, shockingly, I felt this overwhelming wave of love, familiarity, & comfort. It felt like I was seeing an old friend I hadn't seen in years and this wave of excitement, and heart-bursting Love just washed over me! I wanted to cry and wished I could run to me & hug myself because I had missed Me so much, it was like an out-of-body experience! In that moment, I literally felt like I was looking at someone else and all I felt was unconditional Love; I loved seeing that familiar, loving face - her eyes, her cheeks, her smile. I just wanted to feel her embrace, hold her hand & sit and talk with her, catch up. I have never experienced anything like that before or after, but the experience was so profound, it changed me. I'm kinder to myself, give myself more grace, & appreciate myself more. For the 1st time, I saw myself from the outside and I saw so many good things. I've always said that I wish I had someone in my life just like me & now I know I do - ME. There's the part of me that is me & there's the part that is observing me - the Me that is a friend to me, and I'm never alone. When I've used marijuana correctly, (not abused), I've had some experiences I can't fully put into words, but they've been spiritually profound and I hope I never forget them. I am so grateful for that unique moment.💖💝

I am 43 also and feel so forgotten. Not by everyone else, but by me. Where did I go? Why did I lose myself raising my daughter? My body is changing, face is wrinkled, stretch marks getting darker with sun, grey hair poking out in all the wrong places, 3 little dark hairs making their way through the chin again...and I'm focusing on all the negative immediately after waking up! It's no wonder looking to others for happiness hasn't worked! I can't even be happy with myself. Wish there was an ongoing female camp someplace where over 40s could stay, be surrounded by positivity, surrounded by nature, no mirrors, and just a place to go to get back to our happiness. I feel your words here to my inner soul. You are right where I am.

@@leftylove2011 Welcome, Friend! 😊 A place like that sounds like an amazing soul hug. A judgement-free zone, where we can find that which isn't really lost, but hidden - I love that. Until then, do your work! Read uplifting, introspective things, watch inspirational vid's, TED talks, follow inspirational bloggers, dye your hair and get a new cut, learn how to wax at home, (I did), & get those 3 lil chin hairs 😄, EXERCISE, EAT WELL, REST, dance, restructure your space, journal, go to bookstores. Just mentioning things that worked for me, but tailor it to you. It's amazing how good accomplishing goals makes you feel. Getting older opens your mind to accept that there's more to life than looks; dig deep & find out who you really are & what makes you amazing - then live out loud. Blessings on your journey! ❤️‍🔥🧡

This CD has three separate relaxation/meditation sessions on it kzfaq.infoUgkxzpa8CIfZcihW4Z0F_ja0QF3W9KIatrsq guided by a very pleasant and direct male voice. Unlike so many other products of its type, this CD does not have bad synthesizer music, does not feature a phony or affected style of narration, and does not make any bogus claims to be subliminal or to re-train the brain or any of that balderdash. What you get is 1. a guided meditation for getting into a pleasantly relaxed state of body awareness while taking a stroll (superb for those easing back into a fitness routine slowly after an illness or injury) 2. A nice long breath-awareness relaxation session that if followed diligently can put you into very deep states of full-body relaxation and mental calmness, and 3. a buddhist-inspired meditation session designed to help you develop and maintain feelings of loving kindness toward not just yourself and your friends, but toward people you don't even like. The CD makes no claims to be designed for advanced meditators or for buddhists or hindus/yoga practitioners looking for very deep and esoteric stuff. It is geared more toward the average person who just wants to develop the habit of relaxation and stress relief through natural, healthy means. him, if you happen to be reading this, keep up the good work fella, and I love your accent. I would also like to note that I have never fallen asleep while listening to this product. I would like to kindly suggest to the reviewer who said this CD makes him fall asleep, that he might want to get checked to see if he has a sleep disorder, or if he is simply not setting aside ample time for restful sleep at night. A healthy person getting adequate rest at night should be able to go into deep states of mental relaxation without dozing off, if not all the time, then most of the time.

I'm so glad I got to see this video. Because i started basically the same thing for myself a few months ago and since then I've accomplished greater things but I'm still a work in progress and I struggle sometimes with getting up and doing this for myself every day until the other day when you Mel popped up in my for you videos on something I really needed to see. It was about narcissist because I'm a scapegoat in a family full of narcissistic people, but I've also learned a self-doubt self-sabotage and self-hate for the last four decades of my life. So over the last couple days I had to get up and start doing this again and pull myself out of the bottom of the depression bucket. Yes I suffer with bipolar depression and I do not take meds. Will not take meds. They just make it worse so I've learned how to rewire my thinking so when I saw myself at the bottom of that bucket I said to myself Christy. It's time to get out of that bucket and put myself right back into this training to know my selfworth. So thank you for reiterating for me by putting this video out. Thank you, Mel you are a blessing in disguise for me. And I can tell you with honest and sincerity. You are one of the people that have helped me retrain my thinking to know that I am here for a reason and that I am good enough so Thank you. And from somebody who can have suicidal thoughts from time to time, you're also my savior, one of them anyways......

Yes! Thank you Mel! I had recorded your message on my phone a while ago but i hadn't listened to it before. But yesterday i was in a situation and a place where i evidently had a fear decision trying to rob me of prospering financially. And i was searching for something or someone to encourage me to do it and i decided to listen to your message and a the end of the day i realized i had listened to your message about fear and how you said " I'm going to do it anyway "" and i just did it and i had an Amazing Time and Day All Day Long! Thank you Mel

It's kind of strange to know that every couple of minutes you are telling part of my story as if you are in my head. I completely get it! There's a lot of good information here. and for myself, I have been on a path of self-discovery and self-healing for years, and yet find there is still something missing. I have hope that your books, which i just ordered, will help. Can't wait to read them.

Just had a conversation with my son this morning. He was all upset about picture day and saying his school pictures get worse every year. That he doesn't like his smile. I told him I understand how he feels. That I'm 40 years old and just starting to learn to love myself. You're a beautiful person and thank you for your message 💗 Sending everyone love, who is going through the self-love journey💖 You're amazing, beautiful, kind, lovable and wonderful human being!🌌

24.00 mark was one of my favorites of this discussion. Catching thoughts and momentarily tricking my brain into new thoughts worked for me. I was lucky or persistent and found an exceptional therapist years ago who was able to use imagery and metaphor. I'm a writer and it's how I think. The laughter in this discussion around momentarily tricking the brain is something. The energy got a turbo charge and you could see that joy and humor taking over. That's why traditional group therapy can be so great. Lots of surprises in the back and forth and then aha moments. These videos and the comments are the new group therapy. If you can laugh during self discovery and improvement all the better.

You are not less than anyone else, you are not more than anyone else. You are here to choose between good and evil. That's it! If you consistently choose good - with occasional mistakes as we all make - then you have done everything you are expected to do. And my Dear, take heart, because that is more than most people accomplish.

Must have needed these reminders right now. Watched a you tube video Mel put up ages ago where she uses herself as an example using the 5 sec rule before going on stage. 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 I'm excited and explained the physiologically excitement and fear feel both the same. That got me to the dentist first time in 20 years, now I go every 6 months. Am going to try the 5 high habit today! Thanks Mel Robbins

Wild that this is actually a tactic. I never liked staring at myself in the mirror but when im having a really rough time and the old hurts of the past creep up and my depression trickles back in, I'm lying in bed crying, unable to get up. I'd pat myself on the head and whisper to myself that I am a good bean and I will come out of it ok. The same way a doting grandparent might do. Always made me feel better and now i understand. Positive self talk is so important. Cheering for yourself is necessary when you don't have anyone else in the stands.

It starts with others that criticize you...whether jealous or feel you should do things differently...each person should grow as able...each have different ways to accomplish the same task...you get judged by how you learn or how you mold yourself of a task...if too many on you and if you befriend others that count on you or you count on them it you must be the same match of generosity and sobriety will and likes...eventually things pile high of their judgments ...its hard to not give up.. especially pure exhaustion...they won't understand....its always you should haves instead of how it should be of the taking all factors into play ....the recipe of the day..shame and guilt only debilitates..and when you encourage another too much then you get stepped on..eventually your attitude becomes attitude and youre segregated and forgotten
