Жыл бұрынOn a solo fly fishing hike in the Sierra Nevada, I encountered some of the most breathtaking scenery you’ll ever see. It was an absolutely gorgeous day and I ended up catching some surprise trout - Lahontan cutthroat, which I have never seen here before.
The water was high and raging and perhaps a bit too pushy for my tiny Douglas Upstream 7-foot 3-weight fly rod but I still managed to get my gear down to the fish.
Overall it was a great day with no talking!

I miss that scenery. Nice to get into some cutthroat ... I recall a lot of brookies in the Sierra small streams. Looked like a great day!

I thought those looked like Lahontan's! I was like .. probably not, most streams don't have them ... love the big spots. So cool to catch them in streams, in my neck of the woods I only catch them in lakes.
