I'm here in Loveland Ohio and seen a driver take loads to California 2200 miles for $2200. He said 3 days to get there, $1 a mile sounds horrible

I had occasion to visit Greenville recently and noticed how stocked the shelves at your local stores were. It is definitely NOT that way throughout the entire country. Here in Michigan our grocery stores (both big box and locally owned) often have more empty shelf space than they do stock on hand. Even our non-grocery big box stores often have large empty spots on their shelves. I can't blame you for not wanting to come this far but somebody needs to start delivering to Michigan!

That triggered a memory in my old brain and I had to check Wikipedia, but it's referring to a campy comedy movie from 1968 called "The Love Bug", a car racing movie where the #53 Volkswagen Beetle ("The Love Bug") becomes animated and helps the driver win improbable races... Justin I had a long day yesterday at Kraft foods in Georgia picked up a dry load going to Publix’s Sarasota fl got loaded which took them 4 hours to load me lefted went to get weighed because it felt super heavy driving found out my trailer axle was 2100 over went back just for them to tell me to fill up my reefer tank to 3/4 so had to add 30 bucks to the tank then go back and the lady tells me to slide my tandems and I tell her if I could I would not be here so I had to show her that was not going to happen. So I get the load reworked and that took 3 hours get it re weighed perfect so I spent 106 dollars for that load 80 in fuel 26 in scale tickets. so I make it to my delivery with 15 mins to spare but costed me a day of making money because I could not get a load had to reset my hours at Publix’s of Sarasota Florida and thank god they allow you to reset on there property.

Come to the end dump side. Rates are up and home every night

Plus fuel is going back up found out 200 barrel we only 25 day supply of fuel. They need adjust the rate for us I see it on my board the loads I did went down.

We have the same lights on our back porch. The ones that aren’t working. I don’t know if it’s the wind or what but they back out of the socket. Just give them a twist.

The load market is bad because the US economy is in recession, and has been for almost a year. I saw this coming last year, so when my lease expired in December, I just came home. Figure I can wait it out here, and take a job doing something local until the economy starts improving next year.

Justin chief land Florida is 31 miles southwest of Gainesville Florida right now I am 179 miles from where you are going also the reason it is hard to get a great rate for loads is because the brokers pressure you to take a low rate and people don’t know how to negotiate with brokers and take what’s posted. also they don’t put into factor route location and weight of the load and the wear and tear of your truck and fuel for your truck.

The Mississippi is like a super hi way for transportation too so hopefully that’ll trickle down to trucking but it’s not in your lane so not much help for you!!!!! I was watching Clay Milican yesterday and he and his bride were on the ole Miss and at the bend of the river the water was so low that they shut down transportation in that area!!!!!

Im not a truck driver but can tell drivers justin is right about more $ being there. My company was just quoted yesterday for $2350 to ship 3 small pelican cases from tx to California to be delivered within 10 days. These cases only weigh 230lbs!!! So they are renting a little van and im driving them myself.

i lived in chiefland when i was 17 as you go out to manatee springs and yes i have lived all over the place from age 15 on. but the 2 states i have lived in the longest but moved all over the place are PA and FL. but i have lived in CA,NY,NV,SC,VA,WV and i bet you can guess where i lived in SC lol

Had a load from York pa to Miami 3100. Yeah low. But I arrived at York as jbhunt broker sent me message I could arrive early. App was 5pm. I arrived 1 pm. Well 5:26pm. Still nada. 6 pm nada. Well I went in asked what’s up. When trailor pulls out last door pull there. Will take 2.5 hrs to load so 8 hours to get a load na. I left utz York pa. Call jbhunt broker. 19 mins 56 seconds no one answered. They had my cell number whole time. Sorry not wasting 8 hours to get loaded period. Think I’m gonna turn trailer in and sell truck. Think I’m done with all this bs
