Do you actually need a separate eye cream?
Here’s the reason I vote Yes:
The eyelid and under eye skin is thinner, more delicate, and sensitive than the skin on the rest of the face.
It's also the first place to show signs of visible aging such as fine lines or hyperpigmentation like dark circles.

Thank you. This would be wonderful. I’m about to be 61 and my skin is wonderful like my Grandmother, Mother and Aunts, (hereditary)but, I’m getting back into makeup and REAL skin care…so I’m trying to learn what to do to keep things good. I have the darkening under my eyes and that’s what the three of the ladies didn’t have. Thank you for being here. I’ve learned so much from you.

Yes, great suggestion, my eyelids and under the eye skin is suffering right now and is extremely dry, irritated, and wrinkled I believe due to the dry skin and irritation. Not sure what to do and I am over 40 years old.

I’m an advocate of eye creams. They seem to work better for my eyes versus moisturizers that work phenomenally on the rest of my face.

They're are also plenty of Dr and cosmetic formulators I follow who say you don't so... Plus let's be honnest most eye creams have perfumes and only moisturizing ingredients. So if you buy an eye cream at least make sure it's not just the formula of any regular moisturizer. Not all eye creams are the same.

@@rosemary5005 Not some, the vast majority are just moisturizers. But if you hVe any suggestions on the rare ones who are interesting I would be glad to know about it. I have very sensitive skin so only use fragrance-free products.

And you don't need. Just buy good one for the face, lids and neck. The "specific" moisturizers have the same ingredients as face ones.

I’ve always had dark circles under my eyes and also a lot of little bumps specifically in the under eye area, and just recently I’ve started using eye creams and now I swear by them. The darkness has gone away, my under eye skin feels firm, and the bumps have been slowly disappearing. People can tell me that eye cream is useless, but I have visible improvements and even my sister (who isn’t afraid to be real with me) has noticed the huge difference

I use Benton Fermented Eye Cream. It’s a 30 ml tube that’s both awesome, super nice as well as affordable enough to use for the whole face if you wish. I use it around the eye area, between my eyebrows as well as targeted areas of my forehead to prevent ageing. I lock in my peptides and my retinoids that I layer first, then I put the Benton cream on. At top of it all I put a nice occlusive layer of a sleeping mask. Two of my favourites are Dr Jart Cicapair sleeping mask and Laneige Cica Sleeping mask. I’m a believer in the beauty sleep and I think my skin and health is proof of what good regular sleeping schedule and good sleeping habits really do for you, short term as well as long term! 😌🥰😌 Another reason why I use an eye cream is that I can get milia around the eye area. That’s what regular moisturisers sometimes do. And I’ve noticed that with a good eye cream, those milia don’t pop up.

I just bought the regular Vit-C moisturizer in this. I saw the eye cream but didn’t pick it up because I’m currently using ROC’s line smoothing Eye Cream but I will certainly try this one after I finish the ROC one if I don’t end up liking it.

Technically you do not need a separate moisturizer under your eyes. You can use a fragrance free moisturizer. More times than not it's a waste if money.

Im going to try this although I thought dark circles was due to a loss of the fat pads from under the skin. All the injectors doing fillers these days mention this in their practice. Even after, there is often a marked improvement in this area.

Can you do a video on the products one would need for different types of skin care. The order they should be used and when with different price points. For example, I don't have acne but sometimes a get a pimple or two, a little hyperpigmentation and hereditary black circles. My skin is combination and not sensitive. I'm not oily and not dry. Would you recommend Vaseline as an eye cream? I’ve heard others say it works great,and is obviously cheaper than most eye creams. @@HerLovesBooks possibly yes, but retinol is an active, it makes sense to use a dedicated eye cream if you want to use a retinoid around your eyes.

I feel that a person's skin type can also play a role. I have more oily/combo skin, however my undereye area is drier and has a higher tendency of becoming crepey. I opt for rich eye creams or serums. I typically don't use such rich products on the rest of my face. For those with drier skin types they likely can get away with using same product for all over the face to include undereyes.

Vit C is one of the most important actives to use in an AM skincare routine but can be very irritating to the eye area especially if formulated with fragrance so finding one formulated for the eye area without fragrance is key. Hope this helps.

I get clogged pores under my eyes that almost looks like chicken skin. Will eye creams clog my pores even more?? I actually have to avoid putting lotion under my eyes just to prevent it so I’m scared eye creams will make it worse. Any tips?
