To Aaron and Laura, It hurts my heart hearing that your getting emails and messages about people worried about Benjamin’s safety! YOUR ARE DOING A WONDERFUL JOB being parents!! Your letting your babies experience new and exciting things! You are the best mommy and daddy they need!! You always have their safety in mind!! Please don’t let comments change how you parent!! Your doing great!! 💗much love!!

Same. Aaron and Laura come across as sweet people. They can't take it personally. It's says more about whomever is e-mailing and messaging them worried about Benjamin. Maybe these "concerned people" were lacking somewhere in their own lives and they need to be heard in order to make themselves feel better. Social media can be both amazing and harmful at the same time. it's a tough road for Influencers. Everyday people trying to earn a living sharing they love and there you go, when it comes right down to it's purely envy and jealousy.

People who have the time in their day to judge other people’s parenting should look in the mirror first! I grew up in a farm town and I did a lot of stuff without adult supervision and I turned out fine! Back in the days I climbed every rock I could find and nowadays people give you dirty looks when you let your child touch the ground on a sidewalk!! Prolly the same people who think Benjamin is inside the house fixing himself a snack all alone while his baby sister sleeps in her nursery! 🤦🏻‍♀️

Thanks guys! I love that you choose to take comments in a positive light, well, if possible, lol. I watched a video the other day where the person said, "I am choosing to not be offended." I thought it was brilliant. So often people jump on the defensive these days, and things escalate from there. But if I can purposely choose to live my life not being offended, it helps me, big time, and helps those around me. Keep being your cheerful positive selves and enjoy your lives and work. I usually mulch a bit with cut grass and chicken shavings. I was feeling inspired to use bought mulch on my 1000 + sq ft of bed space. Then I watched the neighbor's cat use his fresh mulch for a latrine. There are 7 outdoor cats within a 2 house radius. Think I'll skip it.

@@YSLRD I feel your pain! I live in a tiny rural town and my neighbor puts food outside for all the feral cats around. There must be at least 20 cats that hang around. For some reason, they love to come to my 1 acre property and gift me with all they have to offer. I am using free wood chips I got from tree companies to mulch my beds. @@MysticFIREFLY There is a motion activated sprinkler you can get that might deter them when the weather isn’t freezing. I have heard they work. I don’t know if there is any other way to do it. My fenceline is so long, I don’t think I want to buy that many sprinklers and devote that much water to the project, as my water is expensive in my little town. Sorry for your dilemma.
@jelatinosa
@jelatinosa 3 жыл бұрын
@@cynthiafisher9907 first off, I would recommend checking if you have a TNR program where you live. If not, you and your neighbors might want to think of doing it to control the population. Those 20 cats didn't all appear at the same time out of nowhwere, and can easily double and triple in population in no time. Eliminating their ability to reproduce is the best thing you can do, not only for the neighborhood, but for the existing cats as well. After being neutered, the existing population will chase off any non familial cats, and outdoor cats usually only live 3-10 years, so their population will become controlled and dwindle on its own in good time, as long as all cats are sterilized. In the meantime, making your space displeasing for them, such as with sprinklers is a good idea. I think there is also a motion activated contraption that makes an unpleasant high pitch noise for animals such as cats and dogs that our neighbors use to deter them from using their front lawns as a toilet.

That’s exactly what I was thinking!! It has happened to me, and all over my gravel driveway because of the direction the wind blows across my property 🤦🏻‍♀️. I’ve dug up so many plants and relocated them to their proper place. Seems like the darn wind is always blowing here in my area of VA.

Hello from San Diego! I've been a subscriber of yours for a while now and I am so happy for your family's success on so many levels. Such an inspiration to us all who are working on our green thumb goals. One request.... On the subject of moving plants around that are in the ground. You have touched on this subject before here and there and its how I got up the courage to just do it as well. I know there are purists out there (like my husband) that don't agree with moving or getting rid of plants that are in a garden that don't fit in with the overall look we want. It was one of your videos where you explained that if it doesn't bring joy then don't be afraid to change it up. Even if it means getting rid of plants, moving them, or even giving them away. I started doing that and now I'm enjoying my space much more. So thank you for that! I'd so much appreciate if you could touch on that subject once more so I could make sure my hubby can understand where I'm coming from. I tried to explain to him that they will grow back or maybe it wasn't meant to be. He has a hard time just trimming plants. Again, thank you for all your guys hard work in bringing us all these awesome videos each week!

Hi, I'm new to your channel and have been binge watching you all for over a week, just wanted to say thank you for sharing all this, I have spent more money and time in my garden this week then ever before. Just started this video and appreciate you mentioning the date, as I'm often confused what month or year you are in. Thanks again You seem like a lovely family.

Laura if you think getting that redbud out was tough come try to dig a hole big enough for a tree in New England. Rocks,rocks and more rocks. I fell in love with a Fringe tree and had to have one. Only one person in this house is going to make it happen, so at 73 I dug a hole 30” w X 20” d. I now have 2 HD buckets of rocks and one of contractors soil (one part top soil mixed with extra rocks construction waste etc). I always fill in around my new plants with compost and new rich soil. Whew, my back and knees know I’m no spring chicken but I have a beautiful Fringe tree and I’m thrilled to have it! If you’ve never seen one look it up! It’s soOoo beautiful covered with pure white flowers that look exactly like fringe.

I agree with some other comments here that a garden tour would be wonderful right now. It is so good to see the before, the during, and the after of projects. They can give us so much inspiration and encouragement as we work on our landscapes. I even enjoyed seeing the ditches and hearing what you're going to be doing and also seeing Benjamin running in the ditches. How cute. But it is good to see all the process. Keep making videos and encouraging us as we work on our yards and gardens. Thank you so much for all you do and the encouragement you give.

I am always satisfied with small pockets of my garden. But I have worked this space 25 years and plan to continue tweaking as long as I have breath and ability. That is a Gardeners’ nature.

Hey Laura, for my big fertilizer jobs, I use an old watering can that has the sprinkler head missing. Fill it with Plant Tone (or whatever Tone). Then I just walk around the plant and the spout makes a nice ring around the perimeter of the plant. Works pretty well.

Maybe put in a windbreak of trees where the blows in the most along the cut flower bed? We used to live in an area surrounded by mature trees, and it was rare to get really big wind gusts like that since the trees slowed them down. I live in WA so it was primarily evergreens around our house.

Cute that you've to say, 'Only joking, don't send us the equipment!' Nice that you've to say that to your supporters as they really are supporters in all senses of the word!! Kitchen aids and baby kits for the studio etc etc etc (PS no word on Aaron's bloopers from mail time yet, what a storm of interest that created. Was there even a Laura bleep in this highlights, wow.)

It's too funny how Laura expresses her feelings on the smell of fertilizer. I've grown up around plants and fertilizer like Espoma products and it's like a "blast from the past" moment for me. Don't worry Laura I get it:) I also love the crinkling of the fresh bags being opened, okay now I said too much...

Love all your videos and I’m looking forward to seeing how your projects progress. Just a helpful tip regarding the red bud you struggled with: when my husband and I need to move or remove shrubs and trees with large root balls, we first dig a little around the base then set the forks close to each other on the tractor and angle them into the ground while pulling forward. Then we rotate the forks back and this pops the root ball right out of the ground. Easy peasy....works every time! Hope that helps!
