My fear comes from past experiences,I used to be very hopeful about a lot of things till I started actually working and realising how people treat each other now thinking of moving to another work environment gives me anxiety

Guess my fear of looking for work is knowing I’m currently unemployed and not going down the path I’m ‘supposed’ to go down because of it, or because of my lack of clear vision. I got stuck in a minimal wage job for 3 years prior to redundancy, and I’m so scared I’m just going to get stuck in a ‘stop gap’ with people I don’t want to be around and an environment that just isn’t me.

My fear is always being stuck in jobs in education. I feel a lack of self confidence, and it shows in interviews.

My fear is being bullied in the last place so badly and working with such toxic people that now I am very apprehensive that I will experience the same elsewhere and also not being cunning, I get kicked out by people who less capble than me coz I am a threat. Only understood that recently.

I worry about everything with jobs like say a stocker at Walmart I think what happens if I don't know where this goes or how to find certain locations or how to use the scan readers they use. Or even say fast food how do I remember what goes on this burger or this sandwich what order how do I make this or that how do I remember it without writing it down. I worked in machining for 13 and a half years and was let go during covid in 2020. Since then I can't hold a job due to having mask anxiety. I don't like wearing face mask I feel claustrophobia. I don't know I literally over think everything when wondering what type of work I can do. Right now I'm a stay at home dad my wife works and I stay home take care of my 3 year old the house duties and also take care of my 93 year old grandfather. Once he passes I worry my anxieties are going to make me fail. My biggest problem is I don't believe in myself....

I would love to get all the people who say or think: "You can't get a job because you're too old & there's all this age-ism in capitalism, in industry" together with all the motivational speakers who proclaim: "just do it, don't think about what others think" together & force them to come to a universal agreement on whether age-ism is scientifically objectively provably real or not. (Same question: replace age-ism with racism, and sexism.) Because these ideas cannot both be true. One or the other has to be true.
