Dr. Kiran Bedi Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor with TeamRajNivas on its 169th Morning Weekend Round persuing it’s efforts to make #PuducherryWaterRich by visiting Farmers with NGOs such as Swaminathan Foundation and Dhan Foundation at Mariamman Koil Thidal, Sombupet Village, Mannadipet Commune on 30th June 2018

Director Agriculture, Nabard, Commune Commissioner, PWD, DRDA, Dhan and Swaminathan Foundation representatives.
Following were the benefits of the vist.
- The polluted mosquito breeding village pond will be desilted with financial aid from NABARD to the Dhan Foundation to be executed by Commune Panchayat. The work will be coord by the local MLA.
-Dept of Agri will help the improve marketing capability for the farmers to get better return for their produce which is primarily flowers.
- continue ongoing water harvesting training to farmers.
- RajNivas will request the Indian Bank to hold credit camps to financially empower the trained SHG women and youth to help increase their household incomes.
- The MLA along with Project officer and local community will identify a common site for waste collection.
- This will stop villagers from throwing their garbage around along the streets
