@@leonac1838well basically, the skin around the eyes is really thin, so when it loses moisture(due to lack of sleep, stress etc.) it becomes dark and eventually wrinkles. to prevent that, we use vaseline to create a certain barrier so that the skin doesn’t lose moisture.

Can you plz tell me the way you used vasline for eczema? Did you Just apply thin layer of vasline on the affe area?

It can clog pores if you have oily skin & suffer from acne prone skin - e.g id you have dry or very dry skin slugging can be good buy teens & early twenties (& espc when they are particularly at risk of hormonal breakouts) should avoid all of that & avoid Vaseline on the face bc it's just too much🙈💜 People with very dry skin though usually love Vaseline slugging. Vaseline is technically "None Comodogenic💜💜 - but Not so much if you are oily & espc oily with hormonal breakouts. Or oily & suffer acne a lot. I could never use it as a teenager certainly 🙏💜🇬🇧💜

This is exactly right! My grandmother is in her 80s but doesn't look it. She said it's because she was sent to school everyday glistening from Vaseline 😭 Skin stayed hydrated af at all times🤷🏾‍♀️

I personally like it for my acne prone skin on top of my moisturizers so my skin doesn't produce as much oil and it's been working great, I started a few months ago and now my pores don't get clogged as fast. I don't use a lot every day but a nice thin layer after moisturizing works wonders. I live in the desert and it helps to keep the moisturizers from drying off by the end of the day 😂

It is technically Non-Comodogenic However it is Occlusive & stops water evaporating (& stops the turnover of skincells) Ergo it will exacerbate acne on ppl who naturally have Oily skin/are Acne prone. (I have a PhD & know this) & obvs he does explain that "It is Occlusive etc!" Dermatologists Study for Twelve Years ergo he knows more than Everybody who looked it up on Google!🙄🤭🙏🇬🇧

@@lemonsqueeze5147 put some vaseline on your nose and cover it with a plastic wrap and put a towel soaked in warm water for 5 minutes then remove it and take some cleansing oil and scrub it out with your fingers then just wash with regular cleanser

honestly it depends from person to person, sounds like you managed to oil cleanse with just vaseline! some people do the same thing with oil and it pulls out the "plugs", im not sure how scientifically factual any of it is but whatever works for you, keep doin it

I had acne and one of the things that helped was putting a thin layer of petrolatum all over my face before I went to bed. sure some people might break out from vaseline but it’s not because it clogs pores

I personally find that it targets the fine lines and crows feet around the eyes, not necessarily the dark circles. For my dark circles, I use retinol (ROC and Neutrogena have good, cheap ones for the eye area) and The Ordinary caffeine serum has helped with my dark eye circles. I sometimes put Vaseline on top of my retinol or caffeine serum to seal it in and give the skin around my eyes more moisture. It has definitely made a difference, but if you use it, give it time. It took me several months to really notice results, but it has legitimately worked!

I thought this... However i gave it a go over my nighttime skincare and... Omg! My skin is baby soft, hydrated and my acne is finally clearing after a year of suffering with cystic acne! It has worked wonders for my skin! It's not an oil therefore hasn't clogged my pores at all!

Well that's *false* and a misconception... Petrolatum *DOES NOT block your pores.* They're literally _non-comedogenic._ However, you absolutely need to clease throughly and make sure no dirt or unwanted bacteria is on your face. I have very oil skin and I use vaseline healing jelly on top of my moisturiser everyday. I never seen my skin so clean and my acne have improved significantly. My skin looks so radiant. But AGAIN just be careful. Having some dirt like slight unseen make up residues on your face will certainly increase your pore getting blocked while slugging your face. It can be very effective and increases effectiveness to your other products but it's can be very risky as well if you don't know what you're doing. Watch out when slugging with certain actives ingredients as this can be quite irritating and can damage your skin barrier. For example, I'll be extremely careful slugging petrolatum while retinols, or salicylic acid or AHA and BHA is on my face; as this can heightened those active ingredients as well other non active ingredients. Which can result on damaged skin barrier or causing the skin to be very sensitive due to irritation. Petrolatum really traps those ingredients on your skin so things that might not irritate you may cause a lot irritation when slugging. I use extremely gentle moisturiser if I'm slugging to be safe. As previously, I over exfoliate my face so much the it burns me when use Cetaphil's dermacontrol SPF 30 sunscreen. Even the most gentle CeraVe and Cetaphil moisturisers burn my face off so, so much. It feels like I put hand sanitiser alcohol on my face. Even Vaseline's Overnight Cream a quite simple oilment burns me slightly too. Aveeno Sensitive Skin Repair Cream seem to be the only one that doesn't burn me at all. Extremely calming and gentle on my skin. I guess because it's pretty simple as a product but man does it feel so good though. I'm hoping Aveeno other fragrance free products doesn't burn me as well.

Back in the day mothers in Australia used to put Vaseline on babies and childrens eyelashes to keep flies away from their eyes and it did make the lashes grow long and strong. It is something that needs to be done consistently though because once you stop the lashes will revert to normal.

@@littlepumpkin631 as long as you use little it doesn't clog your pores. But please don't use it on blackheads for example. I just use a little for pimples, but it's best to do this every night on a clean, washed face (not an unmoisturized one). It may or may not work for you, we shouldn't use it on the face in general. But it has been approved by something like the national eczema association in America. To get rid of pimples you should also cleanse and moisturize, as well as eat healthy. Drink water too, it makes a difference! But if you want to try, then try applying a little bit on a clean face for about 4 days to a week. If you don't see a difference in size, it may be best to stop using it. I'm not sure about acne though. I wouldn't apply it in that case.

Don't use petroleum jelly to remove, use the normal makeup remover.
