I have the war doctor on pre order from forbidden planet international. It says the release date is mid march, guessing thats the end of this week?

votesaxon07 It was supposed to be the 11th of March but nobody really knows what's happening, I don't think FP have received the stock yet. I actually ordered mine for PopCultcha (AUS) as they've had him in stock for a few weeks and some people have gotten theirs in as early as five days.

The time of the doctor was shot in late summer 2013, with filming pictures being posted online soon after, so I sincerely doubt CO had nothing to work with.

votesaxon07 Haha sorry didn't see the end bit. Do you think we'd get a Danny Pink figure? It took them way too long to release a Rory figure. What I really want is a 5" Capaldi in his new costume and you can open or take off the coat to reveal the awesome third doctor style red lining!

It took them 2 and a half weeks to deliver me an eleventh doctor's screwdriver! Damn you Royal Mail!!!!

I can only assume costs. Doctor Who merchandise isn't in the same state it was during their heyday around Series 2-4. Sales must be going down, the economic pricing for making all the figures must be skyrocketing, and its overall a lot harder for them to make products. Look at how they were in Series 2-4, cranking out dozens of 5'' figures or so in a wave, along with voice changers, Walkie-Talkies, model kits and the like taking up massive displays in the toy aisle. Now they're cut back to 6-7 3'' figure waves squeezed in aisles with only some role-play gear, cardboard playsets, and TARDIS toys to compliment. The market for Who toys seems to have long left its massive size, and Character's reducing their output in response in ways that doesn't cost them money. Us collectors may be furious, but unless we see a similar response from the target audience (the kids), there's little chance of a reversal.

Nargh. My brothers a big doctor who fan and he's 5 and he even hates the 3 inch figures. He always asks me if he can play with my 5 inch one's. I think they should go back to 5 inch because for a start I'd buy them because after wave one I'm not getting two. I'm not getting them not because of the horrific detail, but the size it's self.

Well, if the youngsters agree with our crowd, then there's a chance. Just depends if demand can outmatch the cost logistics.

I agree. By all means character should keep continuing to make these for kids, but collectors are seriously getting a kicking. And its not a rumour - LEGO have got the rights to make Doctor Who sets.
