Oh great next episode is literally the most traumatic episode of tv of my childhood.

This was the first DOCTOR WHO episode that brought me to tears. Thank so much for your reactions, Eric, Shane, Calvin and Aaron!

I also feel very sorry for Lono. :P Shame the disc kept glitching. I really like this episode. Yeah, the time wraiths or whatever haven't aged very well, but the emotional story in it does it for me. I think I could see at least Calvin getting a bit emotional there, and I feel him. This episode always gets me with the Rose and Pete relationship. I think I took the 'old' thing the same way Calvin, Eric and Shane did, with it being something that was more sturdy in a temporal sense, rather than in a physical sense. I actually hadn't thought of it like Aaron said at all, but it's an interesting perspective. I like the change of tone in it, even if a lot of the drama hinges on Rose... making mistakes. Which is usually not a plot device I'm fond of, but I think it's handled and solved nicely in this, and you understand why Rose acts like she does. And I really like some of the small moments, like the Doctor talking to the soon-to-be married couple, or the Doctor and Rose arguing but then talking it out. It's natural for people to lash out and get angry. But instead of dragging it out too much, this episode solves it in a way that feels natural, I think. Then again, this writer has written two of my favorite episodes down the line, so it's not surprising. Even I hadn't caught that Bad Wolf until now... Nice spotted Eric! Whatever it could possibly mean... Who knows! But I sure am looking forward to the upcoming weeks...

This is 1 of my if not my favorite episode of season one if only for how emotionally impactful it is. I love seeing the interactions between Rose and her father especially once he knows she's his daughter. I never really thought the monsters in this particular episode looked that bad and the concept of them is really cool and scary. I also love how serious the Doctor got about what Rose did when she messed with the past. Her father deciding to sacrifice himself to save everyone was so selfless and amazing while also being really sad and was the best part of the episode. I love how the flashback changed and it was very heartwarming and sad that Rose stayed with her father until the end. This was a great reaction and your next one will be too. :-)

One of my favourite episodes of Dw mainly since it's about rose and how human nature tends to get the best of us. If given the chance I would love to see my dad again being all grown up there is so much I would love to say that I couldn't when I was young and if causing a paradox would let me I would do it too. This is probably my favourite episode from season 1. It's different from the others before, it's smaller, and more character driven. It established Rose and Jackie's past a bit, and also answered some questions around the show's time travel. Still keep in mind not to hang up too much on the rules, just enjoy the episodes if you can. Lots more awesome stuff to come in this season even.

I really like this episode mostly because it almost follows my ideology when it comes to time travel. It shows that no matter what horrible thing(s) have happened in our past, be it ourselves effected or the world, we can never go back to "correct" it. Not because of Space Vultures, but because it both affects our "present time" world and/or changes the person we grew up as. Keep it up crew. Loving every video.

Dear Blind Wave: Please keep in mind that Doctor Who has a history of "questionable special-effects" from the very start (Back in the days of black and white TV). This is one thing that really burns my hide when hearing people complaining about it, even to this day. A lot of the reasons that the special effects suffered is due to the amount of money being spent on WRITERS... Names such as Douglas Adams for example..... Location Sets...... Logistics/Security/Permits for those location sets costs a lot of money...... And then the casts being replaced every week .... Costumes/Make-up for each "species/creature". When you have only X-amount of money to spend and you have to spend Y-amount just to film an episode? Well, Z-amount for special effects can't always been the top priority. This is especially true when the show-runners make the decision to put priority on STORY-ARCS over special effects. So yeah. Sometimes the Special-Effects/CGI suffers on the show. But don't hold that AGAINST the show itself. After all, the Special-Effects for "classics" such as SW, Robocop or Terminator (1-2) don't really "hold up" to this day very well, but they are constantly enjoyed by new audiences.

It's been more than three times. If you go back, you can find Bad Wolf in pretty much every episode of season 1.

This is thing that I have with the Langoliers: They, as well as Reapers, excist outside our time and space,. Is it really so weird that they look off, when compared to the real world aroud them? It makes them look far more alien.

Great reaction. People in the comments are suggesting to watch the spin offs and the minisodes. I would also say maybe watch the two animated specials they did as well. The Infinite Quest and Dreamland. The Infinite Quest is set during series 3 and Dreamland is set during the 2009 specials. I haven't watched them in a while but I remember enjoying them back then.
