The standard (there are plenty of exceptions) for British sitcoms has always been 6 x 30 minute episodes per series (trans. Season) and often only 2 - 4 series (Fawlty Towers, Black Adder, The Young Ones, Spaced, The League of Gentleman, The Mighty Boosh) although there are some longer running shows (Only Fools and Horses, Last of the Summer Wine). A key reason for this relative brevity is that the shows are typically only written by one or two people. The same 'rules' rarely apply to other kinds of British shows e.g. Dr Who's original format was 4 or 5 stories per series (often with different writers for each) with each story divided into multiple short episodes (anywhere from 2-7+); New Who's format roughly speaking has been 10(ish) hour-long shows with 5 or 6 different writers. We don't really do the 20 episodes/7 seasons thing - I suspect this is, in large part, a money thing.

Apparently RTD is writing the third season but that doesnt matter they can still rightly cancel the abomination ( as a dalek would call it ) this show has become.

Space Babies was RTD projecting his interests. Babies with the mentality of near-adults teens. Creepy. D&W will be what everyone is saving money for, and the opening week will be gigantic. Reynolds as DP is interesting, but Jackman returning as Wolverine, especially in the costume, catapults this into blockbuster territory. Though I can imagine a lot will go on cheap day, given the price grab beyond inflationary increases.

Btw I showed up late last night because originally I went to bed but couldn't sleep because of my jaw specifically my gums being in pain so.
