Thank you all so much for such lovely comments. It really means the world to me that so many people have enjoyed my tribute to the greatest TV show in the universe!! I have several other projects in the works currently which I'm really excited to share with you all at some point in the future. If you would like to stay up to date with any new content, I have just recently created a Twitter account that you can follow if you wish. twitter.com/DialConfession Thanks again everybody :)

Everyone in the comments seems to like this tribute but I don’t really...sorry let me explain: It’s too upbeat for Doctor Who, the Doctor is a legend a Timelord from the planet Gallifrey and a rebel from the perspective of Gallifrey, he’s been running his whole life. The Doctor’s always said that nothing last forever, everything has to come to an end one day. The Doctor’s seen many people die and saved many lives. I’m not saying that all tributes should be dark they can be more in between too but I felt this one was a little too happy and upbeat for Doctor Who.
@highvoltage77975 жыл бұрын
Waffle Penguin What? Doctor Who can be dark and I prefer it that way, but the Doctor as a character is hopeful and optimistic. “I am and always will be the optimist, the hoper of far-flung hopes and the dreamer of improblable dreams.” In the curse of Fenric he wards off evil by mouthing all of his companions because he has faith in them. Even the darkest Doctor (7) is uplifting. Heck, the 1st Doctor, who’s seen as the grumpiest, can also be the most giddy and talks about how important hope is towards Barbara. The show is inherently positive.
@tost69565 жыл бұрын
@@wafflepenguin4440 Sadly much of the revived series falls into the category of preening and pomposity you describe, but the majority of the show is not anywhere near as slushy. Even if we take what you say at face value, this tribute (and it's great don't get me wrong) isn't even that upbeat - it is fairly spirited but it's also very earnest and sincere - it is clearly meant to be evocative. Darkness doesn't (or at least shouldn't) equate to all the humour and fun of the show being surgically removed. It means there are dark and disturbing aspects to the show, and the doctor is an 'enigmatic' character, but it is still ultimately a fun sci-fi adventure show. Would you prefer if the entire video was just mopey and self-pitying monologues from Tennant, Smith and Capaldi?... Well I suppose it's plausible, given that many of the very popular tributes are centred around these (and then have the cheek to sprinkle in a few classic shots to pretend it's an all-encompassing tribute). And you use the synopsis of: 'the Doctor is a legend a Timelord from the planet Gallifrey and a rebel from the perspective of Gallifrey, he’s been running his whole life. The Doctor’s always said that nothing last forever, everything has to come to an end one day' - To me this describes an extraordinarily dynamic, curious and vigorous central character.

I think the best thing is how you use Classic Who. Not to put down most tribute videos, but I like how you embraced all of it and not just New Who.
@TheConfessionDial5 жыл бұрын
I think it’s generally more difficult to incorporate Classic Who because it’s generally less filmic than the new series, and of course there’s the issue of aspect ratios. Often, old footage is jarring up against new footage, so it’s really just a case of finding the balance. So I hope I’ve done a decent job of that, haha. Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for watching. :)

Just gorgeous. As a die hard Who fan, this almost brought tears to my eyes. Such a weight of history, so many actors and writers and producers collectively weaving this glorious tale of the homeless celestial wanderer in his blue box, living life to the fullest through the people he travels with. Beautiful. What a show to celebrate. We can be proud to be fans of it.

I had a friend who kept pestering me to watch Dr Who. We were both serious Star Trek fans, but Who just sounded silly. Just to shut him up, I watch an episode with Tom Baker and, well, I was hooked. It is the best and silliest and deepest show I have ever seen.

I just wanna say, you don't particularly need to worry about watching every Classic Who episode in order. It's really easy to pop in-and-out of specific Classic Who stories at will without worrying about (too much) continuity, so if you find it slow or boring you should just watch the stories that interest you.

I’d like to think I love Classic Who as much as any Whovian, but I think I know why there’s such an outpouring of love in the comments for the Classic Who clips you used. There’s stuff in here I haven’t seen before, or the pacing or your use of it made it feel like new. And when I think about it, we do see a lot of the same clips over and over in these compilation videos, and they do tend to get used in the same ways across channels. But you made something old feel new again, and we all know that’s why we love Doctor Who in the first place.
