Today I'm building a teenage gamer bedroom using only Base Game and the new #TS4HighSchoolYears expansion pack! I am obsessed with the new furniture that comes with the pack and love how you can make a fun gaming aesthetic! Did you have a gaming setup in your bedroom when you were in high school?

I was lucky enough to get my own computer when I started high school. My dad is a big gamer, too, so when I was little I would use his computer to play games and I think he got me my own so I would stop using his haha

Same! My dad plays with some small streamers on twitch and youtube and hes a bjg gamer, i got a laptop at 4 (had to use it with his supervision because i was so little and didnt know how to use it) im 16 now and 2 years ago he got me a gaming pc instead of continuously getting me macbooks and gaming laptops (i accidentally broke them a lot)

Same I got mine for my birthday this year and I’m a freshman. No it wasn’t a new pc bc my older brother gave me his because he built his own better one. But mine is still a great pc

Same. Though while i got my first computer in grade school (no internet and it was basically a mid 2000s netbook it was a gift from my great grandparents) from 2012-2014 i basically used my moms old computer after she upgraded to a new one (old one was still in great condition and I’m not complaining though as i understand with her being a single mom we couldn’t afford more than one new computer) in 2014 i got my got my own MacBook as a early graduation gift and i used that till 2019 when i finally got my own desktop that i use for gaming and every day use (still use the MacBook when i travel though which sadly isn’t as often anymore)

Me and me boyfriend share the top floor in our small house (we live with my mom) and its a good space for us to have both our gaming set ups, even tho my computer is really slow but works okay for sims 😅 my bf original computer is broken but he got a gaming laptop for dota 😂 we also have a small tv wich is a little broken and old but i have my old xbox original plugged in so we can play a few old games!

I don’t really have a setup lol. I have one of those folding tables (broken but works) and I just take it out, put my laptop on and start playing. I also bought $1000 of my laptop while my family paid the other $400 for my birthday. It took a lot of work to save up all that money. If I had a setup in my room I wouldn’t even be able to walk around in it, my room is too small 😂

If I want to go to my wardrobe I have to step on my bed cause my setup takes a lot of space.. but also the choice of having a queen sized bed in this small room is dumb so I don't have a right to complain

You could've built your own desktop that runs amazing and gotten a new folding table for less than that. You could've set it up in your closet.

In my family we get a laptop at the end of grade six because that’s when there is more homework on the computer so I’ve just had the same laptop on my desk in my bedroom where I can game and draw Edit: I’m in grade 11 now

My house has this little nook area right near the living room that used to be my bedroom when I was little. Once my older siblings moved out I got one of their rooms, so I changed my old 'bedroom' into my gaming room.

My son has a PC gaming rig and a PS5 in his room. We don't buy a lot of *things* year round, so there's typically one nice Christmas present. He saved his chore and gifted money (birthday, good grades, etc.) to buy upgrades. He built the PC together with his dad so it was also a fun bonding project 😊

My step father is a big gamer, so I was able to get his old PC when I was a little before Middle School started. I use it every day, not just to play games but also to talk with friends. Amazing build btw.

My dad was pretty into gaming growing up. He had the whole set up so I play on his. When he upgraded his PC to a better build my brother got his hand-me-downs and finally when he upgraded it again, I got my brothers PC, so eventually I had my own set up in my room and I played with my brother and my dad! It was tons of fun! Lots of good memories

Mines in my living room but that's because I have my own flat with my fiancé. I never had any games in my bedroom growing up, only a family PC downstairs and my Gameboy/DS in my room.

It wasn't exactly a gaming set-up, just a family computer in the living room till we moved somewhere else where I could have it in my room, but even when it was in the living room I was the only one who used it and it was for gaming for me. I was fifteen then and I got an actual gaming pc at 17 for graduation (my brother built it, way too pricey otherwise).

Highschooler here, I have a full on gaming setup in my room 😅 with a laptop, wireless keyboard & mouse, and an extra monitor! It’s mostly for school and stuff, but my family isn’t middle class so I’m not a great example, most people I know in high school have a laptop at least, or the school will loan them one for the year, because we use them a lot for assignments :D

As a kid at some point there was a computer in my bedroom which was used for games. I do not know what age I was, but older than eight. To be clear this was not a gaming computer and there was no internet connection. The games it played were things like “Brick,” “Below the Root,” “Black Cauldron,” “Tetris,” and similarly low end games. The room, and thus the computer, were shared between me and my sister. It was also frequently used for “Word for Windows.” The computer itself was large and the monitor one of those box monitors. By the time I was in high school, we had internet, but not in my room. The only connection, which was dial-up, was in my dad’s office. I probably didn’t get internet access in my room until I was an adult. Now from 2000 on there was a computer in the house with a Sims game, which may have been the highest end game at the time. Since then we have gotten progressively higher end games, though for a long while they were mostly on consoles. I do not think any of us have had a laptop that was usable for gaming so far, so for gaming purpose, desktops only. Right now my computer which I play games on, but isn’t really a gaming computer, is under my bed . . . it’s a loft bed.

i grew up using my mum's pc to play the sims 3. when i got into high school, i got a laptop and played sims 4 on it, but it chugged a lot. in my second last year of high school, i got a gaming pc setup. it was a mix of gaming and a place to do homework.

The last house I lived in, the 2nd floor had a catwalk that led to 2 rooms: my bedroom and the “play room” where I had my TV and XBOX set up, my computer, my Barbie doll collection, and my art supplies. There was also a bathroom that connected the two rooms that you couldn’t access from the catwalk. The master was on the first floor, so it was kinda cool having the whole second floor of the house to myself. Only thing missing was a small kitchenette to keep it from being a small apartment.

Yea I have one now in my bedroom I got it when I was in 8th grade and I had to save up around $1000 to buy it all myself my parents didn’t help chip in but I really like it and take care of it cause it cost my own money to get!

Our first computer was in our family room, back in 1996. Then, it moved to our old playroom. Then, as my parents were remodeling our house, it moved into a new dedicated office space. I got my own laptop when I started college. My own son is now 17, and definitely has his own gaming setup. He uses a ps5 hooked up to a monitor, and has a gaming laptop. He also has his old ps4 hooked up to his tv for watching tv and for when he has friends over.

I'm... old. The first gaming platform I had was the NES. That being said, I've been gaming for a long time and it is a huge part of my life. I have four kids ranging from 18 down to 11. They all have their own PC setup in their rooms, as do I and my husband. We also have all the consoles in the living room as well as "extra" PC's for LAN parties. This probably isn't typical, but that's how my family rolls.

My dad was a pretty big gamer around when i was born. We had an original xbox and an xbox 360. later on we got an xbox one, eventually i took enough interest in it to be bought me own in my own room. 5 years later, got my first pc in 8th grade :)

I was class of 2005, even my wealthy friends in highschool didn't typically have their own PCs let alone laptops back then. Computers were considered pretty nerdy or alternative. However, even though we were lower middle class, my dad is a rocket engineer with a passion for PC building. He bought his first PC in 1982, and has had one ever since. That meant my sis and I used to get his old ones whenever he bought/built a new one. That started when I was in first grade and my sister was in fourth. We shared a bedroom at the time so we also shared the computer. A few years later we moved to a 3 bedroom apartment, my sister made a big stink about how since she was older she should get to take our shared computer for her room. She got her way. Six months later, my dad got a new computer and gave me his old one, leaving my sister with the older old one. 😁 That's when I started my obsession with the Sims. Except there weren't any Sims yet. It was Sim Safari and Sim Zoo that I loved! I was extremely fortunate to have that computer with good speakers in my bedroom in third grade. This continued until highschool, and beyond. Nowadays I really only play the Sims on PC, so I have a basic HP laptop. My husband has a PS 5 that we use for other gaming.

For a long time we had only one PC, I had a PS2 in the living room all to myself. The PC was usually in the living room but in one house it was in the kitchen. I got my own PC in like 7th grade. I played the Sims 2 on it. I now have a Linux PC and a Windows laptop.

The answer to Ashley's question is YES. More and more teens are learning all about PCs and gaming setups and teaching themselves a trade just to have an optimized set up. I have a pretty simple setup with a couple of monitors and virtually no decor, but my brother builds PCs for a living so our entire basement (and his OWN setup) is very flashy

growing up we had a family computer that sat behind the couch & a ps2 that sat in my sister’s room, but i was able to go in there whenever i wanted to play it. i didn’t get my first personal laptop until the sims 3 came out, ever since then i’ve had my own “setup” (laptop lol)

I have a ps5 and xbox in my room along with a big tv. I am very fortunate but me and my sibling share it because we also share a room. My dad is a big gamer so I got his old consoles for the most part as he moved to next gen stuff. The only reason I have a ps5 for sims now instead of a ps4 is because my mom got very lucky and won a contest she entered just in case on the day of launch my dad coudn't get a preorder. I don't have a pc or a desk, I just play from my bed, but I am very fortunate to have this set up(I am going into my junior year of high school)

I've been into gaming since I was 10-12 so before I had my own pc, I used to play on the shared family pc set up in the living room with my younger brother. He got his own gaming set up a few years after I got mine

I have a small laptop, don’t know the exact size, but smaller than a Mac book. And my dad has worked with computers for years, I think 20 years soon, or more. So he just casually has a couple screens, maybe a mouse or 5, a box or 3 full of cables laying around, you know, like any normal person. But I’m in Highschool, I have one of my dads old screens, works fine, he just needed a bigger one. And then I have the laptop, a keyboard, and a mouse. And I’m getting a bigger screen soon!💕

I'm 22 now and back in primary school, my brother and I shared a very old, almost broken computer. After that we bought a laptop together. Soon enough my brother bought his own computer and I got the laptop for myself. But around 7th or 8th grade I'd say I bought my own computer for around 200€. So we got stuff like that pretty early on, but from our own money. We'd often just ask for money for Christmas so we could use everyone's budget combined to buy gaming stuff

I was lucky my country had a scholarship programme for kids to get school laptops. I got mine when I was 14. I'm now 25 working and bought consoles and a proper set-up, but my baby laptop it still works 😭❤️

My kid had her first gaming console at 2. It was a little pink PS2. Since then they always had gaming in their own room. It evolved over the yrs first to the PSP, Wii other handheld gaming devices and then the PC around 9-10. Coz they wanted to play my Sims games and I didn't want to share. 😅 We had to pool our money together with my dad too, we are low income. So I think it's fairly normal for kids to have their own set up.

My family had four people and two shared gaming laptops. I didn’t really get to touch them because it was the start gaming youtube streamers and my mom and sibling were obsessed. I always wanted my own computer and private space to set things up.

Only if you’re rich. My dad studied computer science in college and built a family PC (the screen was from the 90s; this was the 2010s) for the basement. When I got older, I got a job at a buffet and saved up the money for my own laptop to play games on.

My (late teenage) bro has a gaming setup, but it's not the best out there. It's just our dad's old PC with some upgrades. As for me (21), I've got a relatively-cheap (about $1000) gaming laptop that works quite well, and a drawing tablet (that cost almost as much as the laptop) that can be used as a second monitor. I usually use it more as the first monitor though, since it's bigger!

My brother (17) does now. But thats mostly bc his ps4 and our other gaming consoles where in a room in the attic, like a gaming room we all used. And at some point we all desided it would be more logical and fair if he took that room, since mine was a lot bigger than his childhood one. His ps4 kinda just stayed up there, and he added on to it over time.

For half of my life I had my own gaming set up in my bedroom and my dad also had his upstairs. When I became a teen I ended up going the gaming laptop route though so I moved my stuff to the living room to be with my parents more often. I do have fancy spaces still even though I rarely use it. Anyway it was so bizarre when I found out not all kids had computer at home when I don't remember a time without one. I mean yeah socioeconomical stuff but I'm thinking more of people in the same economical group as I was/am. My family was never outgoing enoigh to spend money at vacations and stuff so we always lived through gaming lol.

I never had the luxury of owning a game console, tv, laptop, computer, phone until recently I saved my whole life to buy my flat and decorate it and furnish it that I put everything else last and 2 years ago I brought a gaming pc and a laptop, tv, region free blu-ray player and a stereo as well as a PS2, PS3, PS4 and a Wii as well as a PSP. It took me 2 years to them buy them all. I never regretted it as kids these days are too attached tho technology and so are some adults I love the Sims but they NEED to FIX it ❤ Your builds are cute ☺️

Growing up my parents had a pc in their room/living room (it was a one bedroom flat so the rooms doubled in function to accommodate 4 of us). It was one of the beige ones and I remember being excited watching my sister play different games (I was a 5yo at the time) We shared it for years, then my parents got a laptop instead and that/its replacement is what I've been using until I got my own laptop when starting university (except occasionally using my sister's laptop when she got hers a few years prior) Now I have a pc set up in my living space! I DIYed a large but low desk to match my little sofa's height - I'm really short so it matches me better and I can now cuddle with my partner when we both use our PCs so it's a little dream coming true I only completed this set up 3/4 weeks ago so I'm still very excited 🥺

Gaming computer is in my room. We don't have space to have a shared desktop so the shared computer is a windows tablet. Bought and built the computer myself about 3 years ago and have slowly upgraded over time when necessary.

I got my first computer halfway through high school. I shared one with my mum while my dad had his work laptop and my older sister got her own. Only got one because my mums one broke. My gaming set up then consisted of a tray/table that you normally have breakfast in be on. My pc/ laptop, mouse and headphones and I sat on my bed with my pillows against the head board. It’s a vivid memory of mine and I was so conscious of my back and my neck getting bent I sat up so straight

I’ve a gaming laptop and and sofa desk I can move , have four older brother’s so being able to move the setup was important as a permanent one they’d find inviting and as the youngest I hate to share 🤣

My little brother has own pc gaming setup, but I prefer using a laptop because it’s easier to transport (Though BOTH of our computers are broken right now so technically neither of us have pcs at the moment)

i have a macbook that i take into every room i go in, so, my gaming setup is everywhere 😧. (used to have a desktop, but i like the idea of taking my device with me.)

I have a PC and my brother has a PC. We play in our spare room that's connected to my dad's office. The room can't really be used as a real room because it's connected to another room that can't be accessed any other way. So we use that room as a game room. We also have a TV that we only use for the ps4.

My brother built his own computer and has his set up in the room. Older brother has a setup in the basement. I have a laptop cause I’m not a hardcore gamer, just play simulator games (sims, house flipper, power wash, etc.) but I have my own lil station in my room

When I got my first job I saved up for a year to get a PC but I didn't have enough space to put it in my room. So i sacrificed my double bed for my sister's twin to put in a desk but totally worth it, I can game in peace now

Mine is in my room, although I actually sleep with my mom in her room (my parents are divorced). I'm lucky enough to have a very techy uncle who bought me my computer

my set ups almost always been in my bedroom except for a stent when i was like 13 it was in my moms office and when we first moved to our new house it was in our den until i could figure out a place for it in my new bed room (much smaller than my old one and i had to have space for my bed plus some other furniture so i didn’t have a lot of room to work with when it came to finding a space for my desk lol)

Personally don’t have a gaming set up or any tech stuff anywhere because I live with my grandparents, but they’re considering getting me a laptop for Christmas 😊

I brought my first pc the day after my 15th birthday then I had saved enough by 6 months later to be able to buy a pc that I would be able to use properly with a good amount of space but that original is now owned by a 6 year old-
