In this video I bring you along as I fix a ladies loud exhaust on her Chrysler Town and Country. A visual inspection revealed a rust out flange bolt creating the leak. It is an easy fix assuming you have a torch.

Here in upstate NY we have plenty of snow and salt and rust. However, we don't really get big tornadoes or hurricanes or earthquakes, so it's not all bad. It's the oppressive government and taxes here that's really killing us. Geographically, it's quite nice.

I did one recently and drilled the bolts out. They were mostly gone and just rusty metal blocking the holes. What a nightmare, had to wedge the flange in place, drill it while using a 3ft bar pushing on the back of the drill for leverage. Never again haha.

Man I tell you what Eric. You have got me loving Astro tools. My in laws got me the 52SLC for Christmas and it's the best light I've ever had. And I've ordered a bunch more of their tools, and went up to Summit racing to get a back probe kit and other stuff and got more astro tools there. It's a 2 hour drive to summit for me but it's well worth it. And I'm now super knowledgeable on circuits and how they work and testing them and using my alldata for OEM info. Thank you sir, you are a godsend and a damn awesome dude!

I've said it in multiple videos, but It goes along with your statement, sir. That Eric belongs teaching more than running his own shop. His value to others, "in my opinion" would be better served, creating more top quality mechanics like himself. Hopefully, if he retires, he will give it some thought. I mean, he's already teaching people through KZfaq, so a classroom should be easy peazy.

My main complaint is that the battery isn't designed to be replaceable. I've got a cheaper Braun version, which uses a standard lithium battery that can swapped in like 10 seconds. I actually keep a couple on a charger so I can just swap them out for nonstop use.

Blue wrench spoken here. Depending on what you drive, ramps or jack stands can get you high enough to access most exhaust parts. I’ve used a die grinder to remove the ruminates of the spot welded nuts. As much as I hate Harbor Freight, they sell pneumatic right angle die grinders for $25 on sale.

Been taking a few old school square nuts off my restoration project. Like you said, a dremel tool you can cut it 4 times and twist each spot weld loose. Not optimal unless that's the only way. If I had a torch I would have 6 holes to choose from when I bolted it back together.

Considering the lack of rust I think it's 409 stainless. It's magnetic, isn't shiny like 304, but it takes heat pretty well and resists corrosion. My Nissan has 409 exhaust tubing but in their infinite wisdom, they used plain steel flanges and fasteners. The flange at the back by the muffler rotted out a couple years ago so I replaced it with a coupling and U clamps, but I spent a better part of New Year's weekend under my car fixing what I thought was a blown out doughnut gasket, turns out the flange rotted out and broke free from the pipe.

Great content, I've seen a lot of these break, after jacking around trying to remove the welded nuts, I've found it easier and less time-consuming to heat and extract the broken bolt, then heat and remove the bolt that isn't broke. If the threads are messed up drill a 3/8 hole through and bolt it up.
