Having a hard time replacing the wiper bushings on an olde Dodge? Well, here's the trick to getting them on without breaking them....

You saved me on my '88 Ford. I was struggling to get the bushings to seat. Thank you and thank your dad if he's still around. Different style bushings, but it worked.

Thanks for this very helpful tip. I also used a little bit of Vaseline to help the bushings slide into place. Just finished replacing all 4 bushings.

@@eddieco I just installed them today, along with new blades, and they work like a dream! I let ‘em sit in the water for about 10 minutes and I was able to press them all in by hand. I also oiled the inside of the bushings to help the linkage operate smoothly. Thanks again dude! 👏🏽🤙🏽

Thank you for the tip. Terrible design honestly. Mine failed in extremely busy constructing traffic in a monsoon. To say I was on fire would be an understatement. I'd like to thank the idiot engineer that designs garbage like this that has certainly gotten people hurt. Nice truck! Working on a 93 D350 Cummins.

The new trick is to wrap them in a cloth with water and microwave this works for bearings too

Wat is farenheit # for boiling water as compared to "ouch thats hot bushing temperture" ?

Do you put any grease on the inside of the bushings? I am going to try this on my 1988 dodge aries . Thanks for our Father's teaching us ! mine passed in 1998.

Can I use the boiling water to remove a bushing? I am trying to transplant two new bushings from one part to another, do you think they would stay in tact if I used this method?

I don't know but it's worth a try, right? I'm guessing you might break the bushing, but they're cheap enough to replace.

@@eddieco I can't replace these bushings, they don't make them anymore so I got one shot. Otherwise I have to buy a whole new assembly

@@kingston5469 I thought you were replacing the same bushings I did, which are still for sale. I'd suggest looking around, someone likely has bushings that would work Trying to remove them risks breaking them,

@@eddieco yeah I know, I found a back stock place for Honda which has the assembly I need. I'm probably gonna have to call them back though because I haven't heard back from them yet
