I could see a sniper team carrying a setup like this as a secondary rifle. Maybe the spotter would have it as a defensive weapon against unexpected contact with an enemy patrol or something of that nature. This is a DEVASTATING DMR at best and a SHTF backup for an actual sniper operating a CheyTac Intervention or similar that has that LONG RANGE capability.

I always thought that the range was farther away from the garage than that. But looking at the map, you can see that there is the garage at the end of the ravine, then about 100 yards later is that small outbuilding that they built and never is seen on the channel anymore, then another 100 yards the covered area at the range.

Needs to be heavier and needs to not be overgassed. It's throwing brass forward. Heavier + Less gas means less recoil. Also a Vltor A5 buffer system with the right spring and buffer weight would slow the cyclic rate down and make it much more controllable so you'd have an easier time keeping shots on target at range in full auto.

you would have to do everything to eliminate the recoil. -light bolt -light capture spring buffer (JP or SRS) -gas dialed back all the way with an adjustable (you will be short stroking, so no last round bolt hold open) -20" bull barrel (for weight mainly, but also thermal drift and velocity) -18" hand guard (for the bipod to be as far out as possible) - a stock monopod in addition to a super stiff bipod - a sling with your arm chopped into it tight - a 100rd drum (again mainly for weight)/optional - a muzzle break that is basically a tanks - a sandbag around the monopod and bipod/ optional possibly changing to something other than 5.56... if possible... but certainly a 20" barrel for 5.56 (just as Stoner intended) then maybe you MIGHT be able to engage at distances greater than 300 yards in the prone. would be fun to see though.

I have an Olight Warrior X Turbo I use for coyotes at night, I can light them up at 1/4 mile no problem! It is a beast! When not on the rifle it lives on my desk to use at night when I have to go outside. I have a half dozen Olight flashlights and have had only 1 failure of one of their freebie giveaway lights and they replaced it no questions asked! Didn't even want the old fried one back! I can attest to the water proof design, when it fried and off gassed it contained the smoke and pressure, I had a hard time unscrewing the cap because of it! The hiss as the smoke came out was epic! If it can hold that much pressure it will survive getting wet!

The mk12 mod0 barrel from Douglas is I think the heaviest issued barrel for an AR (particularly including the suppression mounting hardware.). I think it's nearly a lb heavier than an hbar barrel. That gun does a great job of mitigation towards barrel heat detection. And can stack rounds at range if near auto fire rates of fire. I took a DMR course where the point of the course was ripping off 3-6 shoot strings of fire so stinking fast and keeping it all on reduced size torso targets at 400-600 meters. Literally didn't even think it was possible. After learning the fundamentals it wasn't particularly challenging to do it at 400. 600 had issues with visibility that day and also wind. But there were others in the class who could with their superior setups to me.

Give you 4 1/2 out of 5 stars MC...would've gone with a piston driven vs. direct impingement...she got real dirty there at the end. Great looking platform...gotta get me one of those Warrior X flashlights some day...thanks for another awesome vlogs...Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours and the whole Demo crew.

Mat would you consider making a full auto HK-91? All you need is a pre-ban HK-91 and your fancy license to make it a sample. They have drop in full auto parts available. Like four position trigger packs… I was thinking about the 2 shot burst mechanism. Available for the G-3 a two shot burst would actually be cool on this DMR type auto AR. You could still get decent hits with a 2 shot burst. Or even a 3 round burst maybe.

mat it would n be cool to see you do for a vid filling the manikins with sand and or baking flower a little visual down range and to see what the sand can stop

Cool. I was hoping one day you'd do some sniper stuff. Let's see a competition with the usual crew... pushing it further back until there's a clear winner

@@palleppalsson right. "Only" at 144.5K after 4 hours. There are some channels out there though that you see a video and within an hour there are a million views.

I feel like you need to do that exact build in 300winmag or 338 lapua magnum. And set up optics for night vision.

Agreed but with the extra weight from the heavier caliber and night vision optics the recoil would prob remain the same. Also. The bigger the caliber the slower the fire rate on full auto. Maybe that would change your ability to come back on target 🤷‍♂️. All hypothetical but it would be a cool comparison if he did it. However I’m sure night vision optics or thermal would be big money.

I love these videos especially the intro’s, for years they have entertained me and brought enjoyment but every now and then I realise about the seriousness of using a gun during a high stress scenario, and that scares the shit out of me. I ain’t stopping watching tho😂
