If you have a leaking seal, it indicates a bad gasket or rubber seal. This stuff causes the rubber seal to swell and turn to mush. It may actually dissolve gasket making seal material. Gaskets may become soft and respond better than silicone sealer. Eather way, its only a matter of time your seal may blow out causing massive leaks or the silicone sealant may become dislodged and end up blocking the oil pump screen. This stuff should only be used as a temporary fix or something on a very high milage car that is on its last legs anyways. It may last, it may not. You get what you pay for. Period.

I always throw the plastic crap away nothing is worse when having an issue on the road and looking up to see a big plastic cover blocking your view of whats wrong plus it makes it a little lighter cooler and helps those drive thrue car washes clean your motor real nice :3

what people should know from my own experience that engines have very narrow channels that can be clogged and the strainer for the oil can be stopped, which results in you losing the oil pressure and after total engine failure

This is a strange way of checking for oil leaks. The engine has to be running otherwise all you're getting is residuals. Even the sump wouldn't lose much on the gasket if the engine wasn't running because the oil would be contained in it and the level wouldn't be high enough to reach the gasket on most vehicles. These products are primarily for improving leaks on moving seals like Crankcase and camshaft seals by softening heat and work hardened membranes. They don't work on metal, paper or cork type seals and it's very unlikely that it had any effect on the sump leak. That would have been better addressed by either tightening the bolts to the correct torque in the correct manner or by replacing the gasket or sump plug seal.

It does work I've used wynns before and this is not a bad leak just a build up from constant dripping,probabley the oil pressure sensor has blown its seal.

Well the oil leak i got after 3 hours its all out. And it takes alot of oil.

thicker oil could cause more damage than good. the engine needs oil to flow through small ports to get everything lubricated. thicker oil puts a load on the engine to push the oil through small ports. if your cars leaking, look for the leak and repair it your self. most likely the seals in the engine are worn out overtime.

I've decided to test this product from bardahl. After 300kms so far, the oil level still on the mark, even when pushing the engine over 6300rpm (peak power output is at 6300 on my car) I'll keep monitoring until replacing my oil. (I change it early, 1 month left to change.)

All this stuff sounds good but I buy it and it never never works! The only thing that ever worked for me is when I ran an old caprice classic hot and I mean hot...I bought motor honey to quiet the valves and lifters...and it worked! I have never bought anything to stop a leak from a bottle that worked!

Lots of sawdust in the engine will thicken up the oil and stop leaks. Draining all the oil out and not refilling will also prevent any more stains on the drive. Hope this helps..
