She has great originals. But, she does do covers (*about 15+) and, imho, does a better job than the original artists. Aurora is easily my all-time favorite artist. And, I’m 55 and grew up with GREAT artists like Fleetwood Mac….Eagles…Michael Jackson …Prince…Billy Joel….Whitney Houston….Kenny Rogers…Lionel Richie/Commodores….The Cars….Kate Bush….Linda RONSTADT….Sade….Babyface….Earth, Wind and Fire….James Taylor….Dr. Hook….Cyndi Lauper…………..just to name a few🤭😁 Aurora is on top by herself in my book. Warriors and Weirdos🤘🏾🎼🎶🎵🫶🏽

I would add that as she has her hand on every part of her art, from writing her songs to participating in crafting her music videos, she 's a little more than a vocalist. And looking at her when she performs is part of the experience, too. She's got a lot, I would say.🙂

Yes, it was written nicely - by her when she was 11. As other Weirdos and Warriors have said here, she's so much better live. Especially since she's so "in the moment" when she sings live that each performance is unique. Her songs cover a very wide gamut of emotions and topics, from the very dark to the light. Every song you check out of hers will be different.

Aurora simply the essence of what the true art form of music should be all about, forget about your mainstream media driven music that churn out all the same lyrics and cliches that you’ve heard hundreds of times before, aurora’s catalog of songs written by her from the age of 9 are astonishing full of lyrics that make you think deeply about not only yourself but the world we live in,she writes about subjects that are a medicine for thousands of people it’s one of the reasons why she has such a huge audience around the world, music for her goes far deeper than topping a billboard chart something that she has never craved for music for her goes far deeper and I’m blessed to have her music her words of medicine in my life.seriously I only have one word for Aurora GENIUS ❤️

Hello there. Near sixty metalhead and rockbear here. Loving this multi talented lady for more than seven years now and she never fail. The thing is that her original videos and original recording is great, but for me they are more of a starter. Here talent shines more in her live performance. They have the emotions, expressions, story telling, vulnerability m.m. test Lucky in Nidarosdomen are for me the best performance ever been made. A great original video is apple tree. That one is light year from this song. Welcome to our beautiful world of Aurora and thanks for the nice reaction.🎉

Aurora Aksnes, norwegian singer, song writer (lyrics, and music), music producer, dancer, born in Summer 1996. Here you've a glimpse of what she's able to craft in a studio. But as beautiful as her vocals and her music are here, to me her whole way to perform live takes it all a huge step above. As she literally lives what she sings, the emotions that she genuinely pours into her renditions make her even more mesmerizing, and her singing even more powerful. As exemple, you should check out some live performances of this song, such as: AURORA - RUNAWAY - The 2015 Nobel Peace Prize Concert: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/fMlni7qIxKvMkmw.html AURORA - Runaway at 101.9 KINK | PNC Live Studio Session: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/asiSqLVe1tSqnJs.html I noticed that you didn't talk a lot during the song...🙂 you seemed completely caught, you should react to some other songs from her, in exemple this acoustic performance, a guitar and two voices: Aurora - It Happened Quiet (Live at The Current): kzfaq.info/get/bejne/b7tdgZl91uDIeYE.html One last thing, as she is really creative at all level, she can't be put in a box, musically speaking. Today, you've just brely scratched her surface...🙂 Anyway, great reaction to Aurora, this endearing and socreative Norwegian artist.🙂👍

Really great reaction to my favourite artist, and yes I’m obsessed lol She wrote this song when she was 11 years old It means a lot to her, and it’s one of few songs that are about herself. Fun fact: The song is on the soundtrack of the series “The Following” After making the video she actually got a cold. The mv is basically filmed in her parents backyard, and it’s a fjord in the background (Lysefjorden, fjord of light) You never know what to expect from Aurora, that’s one of many reasons I love her + her awesome personality

Great reaction - hope you guys check out some more Aurora, particularly her live performances. In case you didn't know, she was "The Voice" on Frozen II, she collaborated with Hans Zimmer for the Frozen Planet 2 soundtrack, she adapted an original song for the animated movie Wolfwakers, she recently did a song for the Netflix series One Piece, etc. She gets around. I do disagree that she's primarily only known for her voice. Just about every fan I've encountered has also talked glowingly about her songwriting and her personality too. She's also known for having great production (which she's very involved with) on her studio recordings, even though she's most loved for her live performances. She is definitely the complete package, not just a good voice. As for recommendations, this song or "Murder Song" from the 2015 Nobel Peace Prize concert, or "Black Water Lilies" or "Under the Water" from the Honda Stage concert, would be good places to start. Someone else mentioned KEXP Iceland 2018. That's a fantastic mini-concert with a lot of energy.

Her most popular, but far from my favorite of hers. She has so many good ones by now. I'm a fellow viking, but ignored her for years. Not music I listen to normally, and quickly decided it wasn't for me. Years later, checking music before going to a metal festival, I scrolled past a reaction to one of her songs, and decided to check what the big deal was. I'd registered she had rabid fans by now. Really took me by a surprise. Impressive albums (each better than the previous), but there's something special about watching her live. The emotions making her write (she started writing in secret more or less as therapy) return when she performs, and I've yet to see her phone it in performing. Obviously a great voice, but also a great songwriter and producer. She likes changing up her songs, and some of my favorites versions are just with a guitar or piano.

As a little girl she spent a lot of time in the forest with the animals day and night and has always been special. She was terrified of performing at first but wanted to share her music and thoughts. One of her most different songs is Cure For Me. It’s fun but as usual has a deeper meaning. She’s bisexual and it’s a protest against conversion therapy practiced in some countries to “cure” homosexuality. In Heathens at Rough Trade East, London, you can see a lot more of her personality. She dedicates the song to “the Mother who takes care of the people who aren’t welcome in heaven. Like me. 😊

Lovely reaction guys! The video was shot near her home in Norway - she spent a lot of time as a child in the woods by her house. Aurora is the total package - singer, songwriter, musician, dancer, producer/arranger, choreographer, and an absolutely lovely human being (and she’s just 27 years old!). She will often perform her songs quite differently - sometimes with her band, other times stripped down to just her and one instrument, a cappella, with full orchestra, etc. - so it is definitely worth listening to different versions of the same song. Also, her videos are mini-masterpieces as well. A short list of original songs: Runaway - Nobel Peace Prize concert and her music video Through the Eyes of a Child - Nidarosdomen concert, my recommendation Live Stripped - VIVO UK Lift It Happened Quiet - Nidarosdomen concert, but I'd recommend the live at The Current version as well Churchyard - Live on KEXP Winter Bird - Nidarosdomen concert and her music video Murder Song 5,4,3,2,1 - Nobel Peace Prize Concert Lucky - Nidarosdomen concert Little Boy in the Grass - Nidarosdomen concert The Seed - Music Video, HAIK Concert The River - Music video, Live in Bergen 2020 Exist For Love - Music video, Daydreamer - Music video She also does some awesome covers: Life on Mars - David Bowie Believer - Imagine Dragons God is a Woman - Ariana Grande Across the Universe - John Lennon Teardrop - Massive Attack Rasputin - Boney M And of course there is her latest album “The Gods we can Touch” which is pure gold!

I get why this is her biggest song and a solid introduction to her, but IMO, this particular video/performance is probably my second least favorite thing I've ever seen/heard from her... right ahead of Conqueror. And that's out of of 4 albums worth of music and countless videos and live performances. That should say a lot about the rest of her music and performance library. Runaway really became her 'runaway' success after it went viral on tiktok. This was one of her earliest videos, and while the landscape in the video is beautiful (It's in Norway, right near her parents' home), it comes across as a bit sterile, and the album version of the song itself is a bit too... cautious and overly refined... How she's styled in this video doesn't really seem close to what she ultimately turned into as she progressed into her second / third album. It's a bit too serious, when she's really more of a lighthearted floaty passionate pixie of a human being. Even the camera constantly zooming in on her dramatic movements comes off as a bit too staged and less natural. Take a few steps back cameraman! For this song, I'd of suggested the Nobel Peace Prize concert live performance, and while you're there, Murder Song (5,4,3,2,1). Any other performances of those two songs just don't hit nearly as hard. The styling, vocals, sound quality, camera work, and overall performance, just completely out of this world. I don't know that people only love her for the tone and range of her voice (not to mention how soothing it is), but for injecting so much emotion into topics about the human condition, her empathic lyrics and tenderness for other human beings, and how she uses her whole body to perform and draw you into the story. TBH, if this had been the first video of hers I saw, I likely wouldn't have been all that impressed. Luckily, it wasn't. Just my personal opinion anyways.

I find it really unfortunate that this version of Runaway is at so many views because it keeps leading reactors to start their Aurora journey with it - which in my opinion is not ideal. This is not the song's fault though. I simply think this version is noticeably not produced in a way true to Aurora which is understandable as this was her first music video. I am actually really impressed by how she seemed to influence every other video after this one. However, I think the best route to start with Aurora, is her most-seen live performances. It will just alter the first impression so much IMO. As for Aurora being "mainly a vocal artist": No, wholeheartedly not. She has amazing control over her voice, yes but I think her super-powers are her authenticity, her storytelling, and her stage presence. Never has an artist touched me more easily than her. Oh yeah... if it's not obvious yet: I'm team "obsessed" 😅🙈

Nothing special. SIA was the first thought but she was missing big part of being on same level as world conquering singer. There is potential but this song wasn't for her. It didn't lift her as artist. But if you would get SIA to write for her I think it would create something more that could take her to the level that it would be interesting. The reason I say this is because SIA is such a good and unique artist. But SIA doesn't want to perform herself because of personal issues. So there is a huge void missing in SIA and her talent. Aurora teaming with SIA could be a match made in heaven. Aurora has the voice if used the right way to be the face of SIA. SIA has the artistic talent of writing songs that are well known to be hits. Both could compliment each other. I think you should look into SIA in your next reactions. Not just her performing but writing songs to the top artists. You would be surprised how many there are.
