A couple of decades ago, when my son was little, I grew a "Junk Food Garden"---Just popcorn and peanuts !!! I used to put a cob in a paper lunch bag and pop it right off the cob in the microwave !! Scrub turkey is a protected species, isn't it? If you do actually get to cook one, use the same technique as for a galah. Gut and prepare your bird. Get two rocks about the size of your fist and put them into your cooking pot along with your bird, any herbs and spices you might want, and stock to cover. Boil the pot until the rocks go soft. Toss out the bird and eat the rocks.

Thanks for this very helpful video. I bought some popping corn seeds (rainbow cobs) just before Christmas and the plants are now a few inches high in seed trays (have to because of the mice, voles, pheasants, pigeons). Glad to see that the border I dug is - ahem - rather too big than too small. That'll give me lots of room for the onions then! Only today, started thinking about how they corn is turned into popcorn. So thanks for the timely advice on drying and cooking. One note - I'm also growing regular sweetcorn and read on the seed packets that different types of corn must be grown well away from each other to avoid cross-pollination. So I have one in the back garden and the popping corn in the front garden where the wind can't blow the pollen from one to the other.
