i really don't want a 500 page essay for every quest to figure out i need to go stab some mobs just outside a city. so if there will be mods that will definitely be the #1 mod 🤣, else you'll be spending most the time googling the quests to find the answer unless you care about lore then you can read the quest books for the descriptions

As a dyslexic person, I am not thrilled that it's not going to be any voice acting. I would really love it if Intrepid invested in a text to speech or AI that could read the text for me. I even dear to say that I would not be surprised if people without dyslexia would probably use it as well. It's really sad if I lose the context or emerson if I don't have the time or the energy to read a lot. :/

One good thing about table top gamers building a game, they know how to tell a story.

A long time ago, I saw a movie called "The Neverending Story" on the big screen (yeah, I'm that old) and the one part that always stuck was where the old book seller tells the main character about how one becomes the protagonist in whatever book they're reading. This changes it from "reading a book" to "experiencing a book". I am convinced that today's games are yet another medium, like books, to convey a good tale for us to enjoy. When a game is crafted well enough (with regards to lore and sensibility, a very related topic as far as I'm concerned) then it also becomes more "experiencing a game" instead of just "playing a game". From what I've seen so far, I am quite optimistic that Ashes of Creation will have that immersion that can transport us into its realms of wonder. And maybe we're even lucky enough this is The Lord of the Rings of the gaming world (metaphorically speaking, I know there's a LotR game and... yeah... never mind).

A game without story is as same as shit in my opinion. A story gives depth to the game, it gives you purpose also. A deep lore can tell you a lot about the game. Most people really should ask themselves why they are playing games at all. If you want spontaneous, instant fights then you can easily go and play shooters. As it states it is mmoRPG I really wanted to emphasis on the RPG here because mostly the genre bases on role playing a character in a world setting of your choice. We need to check the backstory of the MMORPG games. It started with Ultima series and other RPG games turning online after some time with the development of the internet. Anyone remember Ultima Online? Everquest? Runescape? It seems to me that these days people just wanna bash each other in an medieval fantasy setting or like that... This is so sad. People really should ask themselves again; Why are some games called legendary like Mass Effect, Ultima Series, Baldur's Gate etc? because it has a story which pulled you in and made you feel the universe you played in. The reason why people does not give 2 cents of fuck to read quest texts is because it has no effect on what you do in the game. If it would have a real impact on your choices, then I bet everyone's ass here that they would read every word, every syllable. :D

As someone with almost complete illiteracy, I hate when games have lore. I bought the game to PLAY not READ.
