I definitely need help with disability as I am 55, and suffer from degenerative spinal arthritis, Hashimotos thyroiditis, and now neuropathy in my feet which makes my deli job a painful nightmare because it requires being on my feet for over 8 hours or more

My wife was diagnosed with a terminal disease just two weeks after being downsized by her company at age 55, and qualified for this receiving $3265 monthly…that was nearly three years ago, but she is now in hospice. The income was a welcomed relief, but it is only 1/4th of what she used to earn.

Its just an atrocity in itself that an individual might be genuinely disabled with medical proof...but they ultimately dont stand a chance at winning their claim due to ridiculous age factors...that by the way are the oppitumy of age discrimination.

I turned 50 in October 2022 while I was waiting on my hearing on Monday before my hearing on Friday the ALJ said if I would amend my on set date to my birth month Oct 1 he would find me fully favorable I applied on Feb 1st 2021 the attorney said I would be eligible for Medicare and I wouldn't have a five month waiting period I just wouldn't get back pay is this true or not

Good luck with a feed back from your comment,I'm to the point where iv heard so many peoples story's from,it's your age, your attorney, job history, your judge, medical, failed surgery,in all fairness, there is no formula of getting disability,it's luck,it's like pulling your name out of a hat, until your name gets pulled, good luck getting SSDI,I have just about everything possible to get SSDI and Iv still been denied twice so far.

@@eddiefannin6177I hear you it does look like a crapshoot getting approved. SSA believes that everyone’s different so no 2 cases are the same with budget cuts & under staffing levels it is difficult. The state I’m in has everyone mail their forms to Kentucky just to help out with the massive increase in applications. Good luck 👍.

I'm almost 65 and about to have my SSDI hearing at the end of March 2023. I have HIV, Diabetic neuropathy, several covid long-haul issues, and side effects of most of my medications. My SSDI Lawyer told me the grid won't apply because I have a College Accounting degree. Is this correct?
