Does our art threaten you? Does it make you completely reconsider your physical existence? Does it make you stop and question the status quo and stop sleepwalking through life like a sheep? Does it make you feel weird and nervous and uncomfortable and unsure if your houseplants want to murder you? Does it set fire to your neat little sphere of influence to the point where you cease knowing what is real and imagined? Good. Sit in that discomfort and let your soul marinate in the chaotic power that is our art. Look at our art and fear us, you prole.

My heart broke when Katya described the assault. Definitely happened to me too! "Just let me finish." As a woman I've had so many friends say they experienced the same thing. 😢

It's not even just women. I had a male friend who I kinda had a crush on when I was 19 and he went to his friends house for the day, at night he came over to my place, he was acting a bit strang but I assumed it was cuz he was drunk and we ended up sleeping together. The next day he asked me how he got to my house, and what happened and what we did and of course I told him, little did he or I know, one of his friends thought it would be funny to roofie him then send him to my house. We both consented and said we wanted it to happen anyways but he never hung out with that friend again cuz that's just fucked up to do. He could of gotten in a wreck and died or gone out and hurt a random stranger cuz he was roofied and didn't know. It's not men just doing this to women. It's also men doing it to other men and that's so sad to me

thank you Katya for sharing your vulnerable story. People still think that SA is only SA when a perp is a stranger and uses physical violence to get what they want. SA can be so casual that people disregard it as such. but it still has the negative impact of dehumanization on the survivors.

100% true. For years I didn’t realize what happened to me was SA because there was no violence involved. I just brushed it off as “boys will be boys” type behavior. The TV/movie trope of the unwilling wife/girlfriend giving up and letting her partner use her body just to “get it over with” is part of what normalized it for me, I think. And, until fairly recently, nonconsensual s3x in a marriage wasn’t even considered r4pe. Men get the idea that they can use women’s bodies how ever they want, and women get the idea that they should just let them do it to avoid conflict. It’s interesting and disappointing to hear from the comments that gay men experience this, as well.
@izatwin
@izatwin 4 ай бұрын
@@ermer first I wanna say that I'm sorry it happened to you, and you didn't deserve it. Then I want to say 100% was also brought up with the same ideas: "Men are just wired different." "Just relax and it'll be done soon." "Just be more aware of the kinds of messages you send out with your clothing/demeanor/location." I could go on and on. I was referred to as a prostitute by a police officer in front of my mother when I was 14 because I wore skirts just above my knee and midriff blouses! People are just conditioned to accept SA and not make a big deal out of it unless we are attacked violently by the boogie man. It's just tragic.

There are some of us who cannot or will not process an assault as assault because if the relationship works out it's just an anecdote. It does not invalidate the assault(s) or the person who stayed in hopes of a happy/not worse ending, and it doesn't make us weak or mind changers for realizing or speaking up about what was wrong after the fact.

As someone who's born female, non-binary, and dabbled with transitioning to male, this was the most insightful I think I've ever heard cis men be about gender based or marginalized violence, especially committed by men. It made me realize just how many similarities and parallels there are to drag and other forms of gender expression and y'all did it in such an entertaining way. I don't usually comment on videos or anything, but you guys are promoting awareness about something that's such a global and prolific epidemic and it's important AF. Thank you.

Trixie, when you're in LA, go hiking in the hills!! Walking at a fast pace up those inclines will work you OUT. But it's low impact, so it won't hurt dem knees. Especially if you do switchbacks on the way down.

Thank you for being so open with us Katya. I truly appreciate you! Too many people have experienced exactly what you endured, and many variations thereof. Hearing your perspective and story was heartbreaking, but your vulnerability is so very appreciated 💕

Hard to hear about Katya's assault. Unfortunately very relatable for many of us, and I'm sure also for many of her friends who were and are engaging in sex work like her. I hope she finds some closure with it, like many things the difficult feelings may come up at inconvenient times and in weird ways. But it helps to have friends who can give you support when that emotional basin backs up. All my love to my favourite pretty lady.

The Boomerang reference was spot on. That scene, and the restaurant scene is probably the best restaurant tantrum of all time. Grace Jones aka Strangé going off and calling out the "girls" was too funny.

The difference between Trixie running 2-3 miles a day and an african doing it to get water is that Trixie is doing it on asphalt. That's murder to the knees, even with good shoes.

I know this will probably let be lost in the comments but as a small child my gay uncle was a common caretaker of mine, he died of suicide after an HIV diagnosis in 1998. Putting this podcast on always makes me feel like he’s laughing with me and the vulgar, direct, loving and hilarious nature of these two really help me remember Jimmy.

Very big props to Katya for telling her assault experience. I know a lot of people just realized that they too have gone through the same thing and didn't know it was sexual assault. I've been assaulted and it can be so difficult to talk about . Love u Katya ❤❤❤

Sexual assault between people of the same sex/gender and in queer relationships needs to be talked about more ! I know so many people in lesbian relationships that have been abused and it's so hard for them to get help .
