Actually Spider-Man 3 Editor's Cut came out 10 years after the Theatical release and I guess it was made for the 10th anniversary of the film.

I actually thought the editor's cut while not a major leap was a better film than the theatrical cut. The pacing is better, the narrative flow is better thanks to rearranging scenes, the symbiote aspect is better played out making Peter's descent more dark and creepier, the fight at Harry's house had a better interaction between them before the fists start flying, i was actually good with them taking out the aunt may scene when Peter gives her back the ring, and the dumbest scene from the TC which was the butler confession to Harry is thankfully removed in place of a much better and more sensible moment for Harry to change his mind. See in the editor's cut, everyone's pivotal moment to choose what is right is not influenced by outside forces. They looked within and chose on their own. Overall it added little nuggets of better scenes, and took out some really dumb scenes too. Editor's Cut may still possess the overstuffed plot issues, but it's a tighter and more sensible film than the TC. Btw, I also didn't mind the dancing Peter. I never saw him as emo, but more a Jekyll and Hyde which Hyde always had that sort of appearance. Also, Peter is an awkward geek by nature, so his trying to be cool and dancing what not was supposed to be awkward, cringeworthy, and done for humor. It's a dork trying to be cool simple as that. Audiences just didn't get it. It's no more silly than Peter strolling down the street happy go lucky with "Raindrops Falling on my Head" playing in the background in Spiderman 2. Besides, when has Sam Raimi ever been subtle?

The Editor's Cut was actually based on an earlier cut of the movie which explains why certain scenes from the Theatrical Cut were changed, rearranged and nowhere to be found such as the Aunt May scene at Peter's apartment (which also wasn't in the script or the novelization). According to the Editor, the biggest reason he even made this cut in the first place was so he could restore Christopher Young's original score since most of it didn't make it into the Theatrical Cut. While I give the Theatrical Cut a 6/10, I'll give the Editor's Cut a 7/10. Even though the Editor's Cut didn't change much (despite the fact that there's still ALOT of missing scenes from this movie that still haven't seen the light of day), the changes that were made were good enough to boost my rating. The Black Suit was actually handled better in the Editor's Cut by them adding back those few scenes of the Black Suit becoming an addiction to Peter as well as them rearranging the scenes back to how they were originally placed in the Novelization (Peter throwing the bomb at Harry and then the very next scene is him strutting down the street was great change and showed how much of an affect that the symbiote was having on Peter's mindset). Them replacing the Butler scene with Harry making his own decision by looking at an old picture of him, Peter and Mary Jane, them adding back MOST OF the Sand Castle scene also added to Sandman's decision to team up with Venom and the original score being restored was also great as well (even though it's been on KZfaq since the movie came out).

Spider-Man 3 is and always will be a really great movie. It just looks bad juxtaposed to the other two in the Raimi trilogy. But I daresay it's even better than a lot of MCU movies.

I feel Like Spider-Man 3 Could be fixed by making it 3 hours long because in the movie we explore Peter and MJ's Arc, Peter and Harry's Arc, Peter's Arc with the Symbiote, and 3/4 of Sandman's Arc which is finished at the end of the movie, but Venom felt very rushed and Eddie Didn't have enough scenes to really display the character and him and Peter's Tense Rivalry, we don't even get his backstory like how he lost his last job and is now working at the Bugle, or even scenes with Eddie and Gwen hanging out or going on Dates. They should've shown scenes where Eddie was treating Gwen Right and showing how much he appreciates her and does everything for her cause he loves her. Eddie and Gwen's Relationship should've *mirrored* Peter and MJ's relationship because the whole point of Peter and MJ's story in this movie is that everything is going well for Peter so he's oblivious and completely blind to MJ's Problems and not everything's going well for MJ and Peter can't quite figure out how to emotionally support her through her tough problems. Whereas everything is going great for Gwen she is a top model and all things are well and Eddie at the beginning of the movie should be in a tough spot barely scraping by for cash and only the small pay that the Bugle pays him which is why he wants the Staff Job. Doing this could've probably made Spider-Man 3 better they just needed enough time in the film for the scenes to be shot and by making it 3 hours or 3 hours and 10 minutes long it probably would've saved the film. Now Spider-Man 3 by no means is a bad movie it is just not as good as Spider-Man 2 and people had very high expectations for Spider-Man 3 and expected it to top Spider-Man 2, I personally put Spider-Man 3 on Par with Spider-Man 1, but given the situation and the fact that Sam Raimi Doesn't Understand the Venom and Symbiote Character, I say he did the best with what he had been given. My overall ranking of the trilogy: Spider-Man 2: 9.5/10 Spider-Man 1: 8.5/10 Spider-Man 3: 8/10 It's still one of the best Superhero Trilogies out there.

I think they should of got rid of The Black Suit and Eddie and revolve the story about Sandman being the only villain and how he actually killed Uncle Ben then at the end tease The symbiotie so In Spider-Man 4 it revolves around Venom.

It might not fundamentally change the way anything plays out, but everything feels a little more rational and natural. Not having the scene with Bernard telling Harry about his dad and replacing it with him looking at photos of his friends is just heartbreaking.

They showed flint marko because that wasnt the full scene. Right after they show flint marko eddie brock was suppsoed to come meet him and then team up there so they can go and try to kill spiderman.

Of course an editors cut is going to be a different style to a directors cut. They are completely different roles in the post production of a film. If we had a directors cut with Sam Raimis' original intentions with the for the story we would have had a movie without venom bogging down the entire movie. He didnt want venom in the film at all. Im not 100% sure about the symbiote suit though. In my opinion, all this movie needed to be great was to just let Sam Raimi make the movie he wanted to make. If that had have happened then we could have had a 4th movie focusing entirely on venom as well as having them cast someone more appropriate to play the hulking behemoth that is venom.

Idk I love Spider-Man 3. I was 11 at the time and it never fell out of favor to this day. It was the perfect Spider-Man trilogy for me. I liked Garfields two movies, disappointed we didn’t get a third. Tom Holland is alright, just a little too youthful for my taste, but I respect that it’s way different from the other two iterations

I would LOVE for Raimi and Webb to be given the opportunity to put together 'their best cut' of their final films. Spider-Man 3 and The Amazing Spider-Man 2 both suffered from some unnecessary meddling and 'pressures' being put on the films. I'm unsure if Raimi or Webb would ever be 100% happy with any version of those films...but I would love for both of them to have the freedom to 'give it their best shot' and deliver some sort of 'Final Cut' that they could at least say is their best effort with the material they have to work with.

I'm sorry to say this, but this editor's cut really isn't worth it guys... There's still so much footage from the original cut that aren't even shown in this editor's cut. Literally so many deleted scenes it take forever to just go through it all. But to sum it up, is the editor's cut of Spider-Man 3 worth it? Not really... A couple years ago I bought a steelbook collection that had all the Maguire and Garfield Spider-Man films. And all the alternate cuts. And by *all* , I mean Spider-man 2.1 and the Editor's Cut. When I watched it I really couldn't tell any difference. There was the scene with the sand castle but that's about it. So thanks for this.

I saw Spider-Man 3 in the theater when it came out. I had a blast with it, while recognizing the theatrical version isn't perfect. I did think it wrapped up a trilogy fine enough. I do own Spider-Man 3 on DVD and now digitally the Editors Cut here on KZfaq.

Didn't add much but the main problem of all that was fixed was Harry looked at a photograph and made his own choice to go help Peter. Not retarded fucking Bernard randomly after 5 long years telling Harry the truth. Also now Peter's narration during Harry's funeral made a lot more sense

So believe it or not the Spiderman 3 video game had one or two moments that would have worked with the movie. Like in the game to when Venom meets up with Sandman he tries to convince Sandman to join him in destroying Spiderman, but he actually refuses because his priority is to keeping his daughter alive. But then Venom straight up has kidnapped Sandman's kid and they are being held hostage. This actually makes more sense for the character rather than Sandman almost immediately agreeing to destroy Spiderman with little to no convincing. It also makes his final fight with Spiderman out of reluctance and desperation. He's not doing it out of hate, he's doing it to keep his daughter safe from a monster

I don't want Flint Marko to be the killer of uncle Ben and rather the other guy should have always been. In the flashback the other guy would have shot uncle Ben in front of Flint and it shocked him to the point of him believing that he pulled the trigger. Flint would automatically confesses and is sent to prison only to find out years later that he never shot him but can't be released due to his confession and the previous robbery heist

Why fix something that was never broken?

In regards to the actor comment in the beginning: Tobey was the one who made it his own unique thing, his Peter really doesn't feel like any of the Peter's from the comics since Peter grows out of his loser phase rather quickly in the early comics. Tobey remains pretty much the same in his portrayal, with the actor and director pushing the nerdy aspect of the character. Peter Parker in reality is generally liked among his peers after he settles into college, coming off as a fun, witty guy with some nerdy undertones. Tom feels more like comic Miles Morales (just better written) with all the story changes and him having an entire world of superheroes to look up to, so if anything he feels like Brian Michael Bendis' version of Peter considering that Miles was just a poor man's version of Ultimate Peter Parker. Andrew is probably the closest thing to a comic accurate Peter and Spidey; Andrew's portrayal feels almost exactly like a modern 616 Peter -- more specifically, Dan Slott's version of the character. There were a few things that didn't fit, like Gwen being smarter and Peter being a little too confident out of the mask, but they're minor things since the movie doesn't linger on these aspects. It's always annoying when non-comic readers think Tobey is the best since I'm assuming he was nearly everyone's introduction to the character, (he wasn't mine) so everyone thinks that's what Peter should be. Since Tobey was the first live-action Spidey I ever watched and the one I spent most of my childhood with, I can't really bash him.

I liked Venom in Spider-Man 3. He's not a jock or some shit. He's a slimey, scummy version of Peter. It fits the idea that venom is a dark version of Spider-Man.

All the movie needs is some extra refining and re-cleaning. Its over stuffed with a lot of great ideas, but it certainly doesnt make the movie into its unique form. Im sadden to learn about the studio's sudden interference of this movie. Everyday i always think about a potential re-release of the raimi and tasm series but with extra reshuffling, re-editing of scenes or re-magining the story re-told in a translucent way rather than the whimsical theatrical release we got. Its hard to accept reality but it is what it is unfortunately. We can all agree that all of the attempted spiderman movies was a well-done to an extent. But the big fat F goes to the studio's mis-understanding of pace, continuinity and just simply letting everything fall into place of the directors hands. Theres nothing wrong with taking the time to flesh out spidermans story. Theres so much to be told. He's a character that has a big universe to cover. So many arcs re-define his character journey going through turmoil, grief and heroism. If you're reading this sony, you're a huge dissapointment to us fans sometimes. Get it right and ask for advice. Theres nothing wrong than just to simply world build at a good pace because the world is your oyster. Its a stepping stone. Story telling shouldnt be a rushed project to bottle out the money. Quality defines how money is profit out of it. Stop letting capitalism over-defining the quality of the work and let the story telling done by the director and his creative team who has a big connection, passion to the character do its job.

Venom was the logical next villain after Green Goblin and Doc Ock. The mistake is not Sony wanting him, it's Raimi not respecting the character. When you do an adaptation, you have to do justice to all elements, not just the ones you like. Rather than feel obligated to force him in, he should have done his research or consulted those who were passionate about the character, it's his fault.

The only problem with editors' cut in general is that audiences abroad will never have the original dub cast in their languages.

The studio had this chance to fix all the problems with SM3 like all the dumb evil Parker dancing and useless venom. But they.only changed.a couple scenes 10 years too late. Still better than any newer SM versions.
