Does the Talmud agree with the Apostle Paul's interpretation of Hosea 2?? - The Case for Messiah

In this episode of Case for Messiah, not only do Dr's Soref and Postell respond to the objections that Paul ripped Hosea 2 out of context in Romans 9:23-26, but also show that the Talmud offers an interpretation of Hosea 2 that is remarkably similar to Paul's!

As a Christian Gentile (Italian American) w/ no Jewish roots whatsoever (but for Christ) I genuinely find it TRULY Beautiful, & an Honor, to be used by God as a means to provoke Love & Jealousy in His 1ST True Love, the Jewish People… Just one more example of my Gods unyielding Love for those whom He desires to be w/ Him forever 🙏

Praises to the Most High! You are an Israelite now! Bought with a price. Ephesians 2: 11 Wherefore remember, that ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands; 12 That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world: 13 But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ. 14 For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us; 15 Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace; 16 And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby: 17 And came and preached peace to you which were afar off, and to them that were nigh. 18 For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father. 19 Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God; 20 And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone; 21 In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord: 22 In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.

Paul is the Man of Lawlessness and he preaches the Anti-Christ. He also violated Deuteronomy 23:15 by returning a runaway slave to Philemon. So the new argument that Paul kept the Law of God is a lie.

When John the Baptist sends disciples to ask Jesus if he is the Messiah he says "tell John what you see and hear- the blind recieve their sight." There is nothing more opposite of restoring sight to the blind than blinding someone who can see. I've never heard of being blinded as being a miracle until Paul came around...

Years ago I was having friendly discussions with a couple Jewish men and one of them said his normal response to the new covenant was citing from Jeremiah 31:31-34. While looking into that, there was the obvious ordering of events in Acts that is was at first to Judah and Israel at Jerusalem, but was expanded to the Gentiles. I discovered these two sections in Romans 9 and 11, and their link to Hosea and Deuteronomy, back then. It was amazing

Question: were these Jewish men believers in Christ then? Because since Acts 17 ALL men are commanded to believe, this is a COMMAND since 2,000 years, also to them obviously. Acts 17:30-31: "And the times of this ignorance God winked at; BUT NOW commandeth ALL MEN every where to repent: Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance UNTO ALL MEN, in that he hath raised him from the dead."

I vaguely remember having this question about Hosea too, even though I am a gentile believer from India. Because I had read Hosea too. Then recently I found this text in Isaiah 19:25 - "The Lord Almighty will bless them, saying, “Blessed be Egypt my people, Assyria my handiwork, and Israel my inheritance.”" So I thought maybe the reference to "my people" is sometimes more universal than Israel only.

Thank you gentlemen for bringing together Moses, Paul and Hosea in this discussion. Shades of Jesus' own give and take with the elders in the Temple at the age of 12. A free, open and respectful exchange of views in the best tradition of the synagogue. You have blessed me in my efforts to bring together Paul's two doctrines: 1) that 'there is neither Jew nor Greek', and 2) that Gentile Christians are wild Olive branches grafted into the natural tree; that the root supports us Gentiles, not we the root. I must confess my fear, however, that you exalt Jewishness over truth in your fund raising. And so an occasional video like this does not win me over, but merely keeps me from turning my back upon OFI altogether. To quote Luke: "Then Peter opened his mouth and said: 'In truth I perceive that God shows no partiality. But in EVERY NATION whoever fears Him and works righteousness is accepted by Him'". (Acts 10:34-35) Do you know this and acknowledge that when Israel is finally restored to everlasting blessing, it will be in abject shame and utter humiliation (Ezek 36:31-32)? If not, then you are not presenting the whole counsel of God. Paul spent the first 8 chapters of Romans describing the fundamental issues between God and ALL THE SONS OF ADAM; our choice to disbelieve God in Eden and trust a knowledge of right and wrong (the works of the Law) to save us. The Bible is fundamentally about God's relationship with ALL mankind. With that in mind He chose Abraham and his Seed as the means of communicating with mankind and blessing all the nations. Abraham's 'righteousness of faith' was his as a son of Adam; not as an Israelite. It preceded circumcision and the Law of Moses, and was the moral antecedent that God required in order to justify choosing Abraham to bless the world. We must not put the cart before the horse. The 'horse' is justification by faith without respect of persons, and the 'cart' is God's choice to use Abraham to birth the 'Son of Man' into the world. In faithfulness to His promise that Abraham will possess Canaan, God is going to bless the biological family of Abraham greatly in these last days. They will be beloved 'for the sake of the fathers' (Rom 11:28). But it will have nothing to do with Israel's own moral superiority. So please guard against the notion (even unspoken) in your fundraising that being Jewish somehow makes you special. Justification by faith is the 'horse', and Israel is merely the cart.

Except Ezekiel 36 is heavily focused on Israel and its residence in particular. Like how Islam is the upcoming rebirth of the roman empires. It's not about Israelites being worse or better than the gentiles. It's about God reconnecting with the Israelites of today after their humiliation. 36:38 As the holy flock, as the flock of Jerusalem in her solemn feasts; so shall the waste cities be filled with flocks of men: and they shall know that I am the LORD.'' Being Jewish is inherently special because it is a special connection to God/Christ that many Jews of today unfortunately don't realize. Christ chosen them to connect himself to humanity and to reach the gentile nations that have once rebelled against him. This movement is merely one of the invisible hands of God to take whatever is good left in the last days. Jews that don't heed to God have betrayed Christ, Moses, and the gentiles like you. Many Jews are given the lies that if you follow Christ, you aren't Jewish anymore. Like how science supposedly goes against God's existence.
@chuckporritt6958
@chuckporritt6958 9 ай бұрын
Thank you for responding. In your first paragraph you speak of God reconnecting with Israelites today 'AFTER their humiliation'. Both from personal experience and from my understanding of prophecy, I don't believe that Israel's humiliation has yet fully arrived. I have been a Christian now for 48 years (thank God). Without exception every work by Messianic Jews that I have encountered here in the U.S. has been characterized by a certain 'elitism'; an assumption that they understand the Bible better and walk more closely with God than most Gentiles. And they have also leveraged their Jewishness in the pursuit of financial support. It's not that the 24 elders around God's throne are not mostly Jews. I expect that they are, and I thank God for it. But those elders have always known that they take their pants off and put them on just like the rest of humanity. They, like Abraham, FIRST cried out to God for mercy not as Jews but as humble sons of Adam. And God heard them and saved them as sons of Adam; through the promise of a 'last Adam' that He would send into the world. Again, the righteousness of faith is the horse; the privilege of being a Jew is just a cart that follows.@@justice8718

@@chuckporritt6958 You have to remember that bad Jews often abuse every Jew and Gentile at once (like in the scriptures and that evil Zionist document). This "one with Israel" movement is about trying to smack Israel in the face with Jesus Christ, the King they have rejected. "you speak of God reconnecting with Israelites today 'AFTER their humiliation'. Both from personal experience and from my understanding of prophecy, I don't believe that Israel's humiliation has yet fully arrived." Without the set up (groups and Jews like "One with Israel"), there will be no pay offs, and no salvation for the dumb dumbs that rejected Christ in Israel.

Great study! I really enjoyed this. It is nice to see a study through Roman’s 9 not about trying to justify Calvinism. I have a question…. I’ve only watched through one video thus far, and you may have addressed this in any of your others. Or if anyone else knows… But I hear something about a connection between Jesus’ statement to the disciples of Him being: the Way, the Truth, and the Life and the tabernacle. The inference was that the disciples and jews of the day would understand much more in that statement than we western Christian’s do in this day. That it was known in rabbinic tradition as regards the tabernacle, the entrance into the courtyard - the gate was known as ‘the way’ and the entrance to the holy place was known as ‘the truth’ and the veil or passage into the holy of holies was known as ‘the life’ I keep looking for any actual source for this claim and only come across different sayings of the same but none of the authors saying this about the doors actually cite where this rabbinical tradition comes from to confirm this is indeed a thing. It sounds impressive, but I am skeptical until I can find some confirmation, so I though maybe there could be some insight from you…? Anyhow, thanks for your ministry! I pray for Israel and for you and thank the Lord for the blessings your studies reveal also to us the wild branch as it were. God bless brothers!

The New Testament begin with such a misconception 🧐; Jesus came from David but Mary was virgin?! Jame Tabor, Ken Johnson talk about Yeshuah Ben Yossef family ( children) Ezekiel 37-19 Jame explain Esdras 12-10 ( Daniel dream was not interpreted as Ezra ( Esdras) Esdras 31-32 talk about ( offspring of David) never mentioned Jesus ( saying David not Jesus by the prophets) resurrection and virgin doctrine is a simple deception! Like Jesus return from a cloud ☁️ with aerodynamic wing across our firmament 🤨 we didn’t ear recently about an another magic virgin birth!

Not grafted into Isreal but into Christ, as not seeds but seed. Through the promise, the Spirit. No replacement theology...

@@KingDavid1979lol if you understood the Hebraic lineage then ul realize that the line of Yehudah all children will be considered as Sons..Mary came from the tribe of Yehudah..Same as Yoseph..Yeshua will automatic fit in the line of Yehudah since her earthly mother was from Yehudah and also through his adoption father Yoseph..plus the word Almah (עלמה) can be used also to a young virgin ..so ur point is baseless

Amen!! Bless the LORD and bless my Lord! I am so thankful to have become one of the Father's people! Exodus 12: 43 And the LORD said unto Moses and Aaron, This is the ordinance of the passover: There shall no stranger eat thereof: 44 But every man's servant that is bought for money, when thou hast circumcised him, then shall he eat thereof. 1 Corinthians 6: 19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? 20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.

Please…PLEASE go deeper into the teachings of Paul and his use of the OT. I have heard so many claims of Paul misusing or misinterpreting the quotes he uses and the OT as a whole. So many claims that he is a liar or a fool and I don’t know what to believe anymore. 😢
