With so many AK variants in the game I think we could easily get some more MCX variants in game. Especially since the later models (virtus, spear lt, rattler) had more third party mods and attachment options as well as better handling than the gen 1 mcx we have in game. And need it be said....we really need the honey badger and other. 300BLK rifles to add some diversity.

Agreed, .300 black out is such a great round. The MCX is dope, glad they added CBJ. Just about have it unlocked. Halfway through 27. Been using PP for 7.62x39 a lot lately. I just wish they'd move m80 down to peacekeeper 3. And make BT for 5.45 available for purchase at prapor 3 instead of the barter. And make BS unlockable via a quest like 55A1 is. Then I feel like all the calibers would be perfect mid game options. The barters for BT and BS are fine tbh, but purchase would still be nice.

@Opachki69420 it's crazy to me that don't have more caliber options for guns that have multiple chamberings. It would take very little effort to add the 5.56 MCX, or even just a 300blk ar15. They wouldn't need to make any new 3d models AT ALL. If they were really adamant about realism, all they would need to do is copy/paste the barrel model and make it larger.

I really think they should have left the AP craft and added the CBJ as the worse but purchasable option.

@@TwiggehTV yeeeah there is no 7.62 bp, no sp-6, no .300blk ap, but 995 is still craftable, as well as new meta mods for m4, that is a balance

One thing I love about the MCX is how quick/responsive the reloads and the fire selector are, in combat, switching between full and semi auto is instant rather than the slow AKs or the moderate M4. It has only really saved my life once...but it is still nice to feel that your operator is actually trying to complete the platform manipulations as quickly as possible.

The MCX's spot in the meta is LONG overdue, so im happy it has finally found its spot! The low ammo cost reeeealllllyy leans in to the magdump side of tarkov which im all for, its been such a relief to finally be able to enjoy the MCX without feeling like im using a gimped M4 - it is its own gun now. I killed a dude on labs who had an MCX yesterday, was about to sell it to a trader but was pretty impressed with the recoil when I tried it in the hideout. I used this gun/ammo for like 5 raids and it was a ton of fun. Might even start buying em.

I was using this gun a few times last week. its always one of those guns that I really want to use and hope they make it better. I few extra barrel lengths would be a good addition to the gun with some hand guards to match.

For pistol grip I like using the stark AR FDE, it’s usually really cheap and it does +11 or +12 ergo

We need 300blk barrels for the M4! do the standard 8", 10.5" and 16". that would help a lot with its viability as it can be used in more platforms. along with a slight tweak to VMax's pen to like 23-25 and i think 300 would be in a good spot. i love the 300blk cartridge in tarkov and irl. needs a lil more love and more weapons should shoot it.

So basically just make it so you can use the m4 more? I think you could add more attachments to the mcx that way you're not really using an m4 cause if you were able to use the m4 and 300 blk that would make the m4 more expensive and unnecessary. M4 is already highly versatile no need to make it shoot other calibers

Unfortunately weapons caliber is linked to weapons base (lower receiver for the m4, frame for the pistols, bolt for the bolt actions, etc), so in order to have .300 m4 u need a different lower (like adar one) and thats sounds stupid. Rework of how weapons mods work (so it can change a caliber like it changes the stash size or stats of the weapon) sounds good, but I dont think anyone at bsg really wanna do this at this point of development. There was an spt mod which allowed any cartridge in any gun but it wasnt working great with recoil numbers

It's the way the game is coded. with the the lower receiver dictating caliber instead of the upper like a real ar15 it makes swaping calibers on an AR platforms near impossible in game.

I like to use the CQR foregrip on the MCX, since it makes it look like a space gun, and stat-wise it is also pretty good!

I wish more people used the MFV001 -- it's 8k from mechanic 3 and gives +10 ergo, on low base recoil guns it's great. Using the CQB stock also from Peacekeeper 3, which gives +15 ergo and -30% recoil, a PRS QDC, and the F1 ST1 from Skier 3, you get 62 ergo and 52 recoil. The added ergo makes the gun so much snappier.

Problem is there is tasks that make you use specific weapons. I got one where I need to get 30 kills over 100 m with M4 platform guns. This will take the rest of the wipe not even talking about punisher and the shotgun, SBIH

I’m pretty new to tarkov. I found this gun twice on reserve as a scav. I found one in the helicopter and sold it because I didn’t have any ammo or mags for it with lvl 1 traders. Then probably like the 3rd scav run on reserve. I found a dead PMC juiced out killed by a scav raider. 4 mags filled with CBJ 100% durability. I went to ground zero with it and killed 4 PMCs with it and a like 5 scavs. Ran out ammo and sold it mechanic. I did this today as a lvl 9 PMC and I’m excited to unlock the flea market for the first time so I can keep running this gun in CQB areas

Gigabeef you GOTTA review ALL the ash 12 ammos. Ps-12 and Ps-12A are EXTREMELY underrated. And I would extremely appreciate a proper leg meta and armor pen testing for the two. Also I love ur vids

MCX has been my go to weapon this wipe, been a lot of fun and imo better than m4's close range with the CBJ rounds. Well worth the roubles!

SVT, AKS-74UB or G36C would be some of the best choices for decent price range/ammo availability. Assuming you have prapor or peacekeeper LL2

If ur looking for guns on flee, 5.56MDR or SCAR-L is also kinda decent. You would still want to buy M856A1 from peacekeeper LL2 tho

It’s all good and nice about pen being not too different buuuuut it’s still the difference between one shot through Ulach at 50 meters and 2 tap. Also damage frop off - still on 100 meters it’s 3 tap for MCX. But if used in CQB (which it is made for) yeah, it’s better…. but CQB only are Factory and Labs. So…. I would rather choose SR-25 on majority of raids

This also just kind of shows that it's still unclear how Tarkov stats work... Like, would the increased armor damage not make it relatively equivalent despite 1 less penetration? Well, apparently not, but I still can't really get why. Although it may actually only take like 1 extra hit on average depending on how those 1-6 penetration values work in this chart, so not sure.

Yo mate. Because you are Tarkov big brain I have got one question. Could you investigate how is it possible that Ash-12 has got 650 range with bullet velocity 291m/s and ColtM4A1 1020m/s velocity and 500 range??? I don't want to go in build spec but it looks like it's wrong in my opinion.

300 blackout is designed to run out of short barrels. A longer barrel doesn't help the round go faster as much as say 556 or 545

@@teapotdome mcx is rifle version with the ammo he's talking about, MPX is 9x19 version which is fun too. Feels like an auto STM I guess? ammo is a good in between if you're not looking to craft ammo or build bigger guns but the range is lacking

Why not use mcx-specific stocks? They are ergo-focused, sure, but still pretty good and some are considerably cheaper than the buffer tube combo And you also need to complete a task for the tube adapter for mcx i think

about the 7.62 aks they did finally add mid game ammo but honestly feel like its still not worth it because of the price 900 a bullet for only 6 more pen then ps isnt worth imo 54k roubles for 1 stack is insane price compared to 8.6k for ps should be lowered down to 400-500 a bullet imo for it to be worth it.

6 pen is a lot if you know how this games armor and ammo system works. Difference between two tapping level five a large chunk of the time vs not even two tapping class four.

As soon as i saw CBJ i instantly began using MCX have max lvl on it better than M4 imo i instantly Bought and crafted about 1000 Rounds sold the crafted ones for like 1200 RUb each and bought off skier for 414rubs xd

The bullet is great on this gun but for whatever reason its recoil feels extreme to me compared to guns with similar stats and 7.62x39 ammo

Fire rate I guess, 800 Vs 650 rpm. Lower time to kill for more kick

If you're going to be spending ~40-50k on an Elcan Spectre, I'd recommend just building a canted sight + Trihawk if the gun allows for it. You may be paying ~5k roubles extra, but you're not risking fps drops (from picture-in-picture) during CQB when i'd assume it'd be most important to keep framerate consistent in a tense firefight. I noticed that the Spectre also drops fps even when you're only using the top irons. (Let alone needing to worry about the extra height-over-bore) Edit: Also, given the calculations done on additional consistency in 2/3-shot kills to torso, I'd wager that leaving it on Semi-auto is probably better for reliable TTK even up to 10-20m away.

@@cancerousnut7767they're talking about the big fps drop that is happening with some variable scopes this wipe, not recoil. just scoping in with elcan, vudu, etc. causes frame drop between like 25-40 fps. on a map like streets it can take frames into pretty nasty territory.

@@Opachki69420 Yeah, but noticeable enough to make you stop using a certain optic that’s otherwise good? LMFAO. And besides, who the hell is gpu bound in tarkov? You should be experiencing very little if any at all. Tarkov is and always will be a CPU first game. Maybe work on your rig.

ive ran the mcx with cbj for a while now and infact its my main gun, it works better on single fire most of the time, unless your super close quarters.

@@hankhasemeier6887I would say they are about equally matched in terms of performance, but MCX has better velocity so hitting the shots at mid range should be easier(you shouldn't rely on 60 rounders either because ergo matters a ton too)

@Opachki69420 my point was not performance but cost. 30 rounders for the mcx can be as low as 3k roubles. 30 rounders the the vss/Val are 40k each AND you have the option to run 60 rounders on the mcx if you want to and if you don't care about ergo (like me) because ergo really is a preference thing. Tons of people are willing yo sacrifice ergo and build their playstyle around d low ergo builds

I gave CBJ a try and hit a single pmc 19 times and all upper body and did NOT kill him. I never shot another bullet the entire raid so ALL 19 cbj bullets hit him. Never using that ammo again😂😂😂
