If you've been looking for a wireless microphone system for your Pocket 2 then this video will go through whether the Rode Wireless GO II is compatible with the DJI Pocket 2 and you'll get to hear how it sounds.
The DJI Pocket 2 does come with its own wireless microphone system when you get the Do-It-All Handle, but a few people have asked about using the Rode Wireless GO II instead. In another video, I'll do a full breakdown of which microphone system is gonna be best for your filming situation, whether you want to use a wireless microphone system or a shotgun microphone.

Wow the RODE always rocks!! I have the Wireless Go I which is pretty good! I bought the DJI wireless mic that comes with the Pocket 2, the only advantage being able to use it as a remote to trigger recording, but the volume seems a bit low compared to the RODE. Wondering how the new DJI Wireless Mic would sound. Great clip as always Tamara!!

Great video. I use my Rode Go 2 receiver plugged into the DJI Wireless mic (both in my jacket pocket)- this allows 2 mics and a “clean” Pocket 2. I am happy with the sound quality although I am still experimenting to find the best db settings.

I use pocket 2 to make all of my KZfaq videos and have been using an external wired mic, been working great without the concern of running low on battery. But I don’t think it sounds impressive. So I may be Interested in getting a wireless option

I bought that ulanzi tripod after seeing this as my rode wireless go 2 are always dangling from my pocket 2 as my current selfie stick has no cold shoe mount. I saw your video and said right I'm buying that. It's coming tomorrow yay, no more dangling.

thanks for the video! I bought the Osmo Pocket 3 because apparently you can easily connect your Rode Wireless Go 2. Not with me, I get loud distortion similar to white noise and no audio pickup at all. I tried different attenuation ( up to - 30dB), tried different cables, it does not help. The Rode works perfect with other cameras, but not with my Osmo Pocket 3. Any idea what I may have done wrong, or what else I can try?

Hi, Great video. I have been using DJI POCKET 2 with rode wireless along with lav mic. When I record the audio, the volume is great. As soon I upload to KZfaq it gets converted to mono audio. Have you had the same issues? Appreciate your help

Hi. I'm pretty sure you need the handle, but I'll check as I've only ever used the Handle with a TRS cable.

Are you able to use 2 wireless rode mics? I already have the wireless mic that came with it and it sounds ok but the problem is once you are using it you really only get sound from it. Which is a problem if you have 2 or more people speaking.

Super useful as ever. At this point I kinda will take anything over a hissy Lav mic on the Pocket 2. That being said I am due to send it off for investigation. What version is the do it all handle on for you?

@@TamaraGabrielUK same. Interesting as it won’t update unless the whole firmware is updated and then you HAVE to have the DOAH connected. Version 01.02.00.50 is available and apparently removes the “hiss” from lav mics. Only way to flash it seems to be send it off to them :(

I was wondering what happens when you are using two Rode Wireless GO II mics simultaneously. Do you get the proper two-chanal recording so you can easily separate the channels in post-production or you are getting everything mixed in one channel?

interesting comparision...i was hoping for your individual conclusion but as far as what i interpret from the comparision in video...if budget is tight one can stick with the normal pocket 2 mic AND purchase rode one only when one feels to get the extra edge if you have experimented more would sure like to know what u feel about it since rode does cost a decent amount

Do you know if the new DJI Mic wireless will work directly with the Do-It-All handle of the Osmo Pocket 2? By that I mean with no receiver other than the handle itself? Would make sense for DJI to develop the transmitter to work with its own tech!

I have a question about the DJI Pocket 2 that no one seems to be dealing with. It seems that it splits longer videos into files of 6:48 min. Which is a bit annoying to put together afterwards if you record for a longer time. Have you had that issue? And do you know how to fix it?

I don't tend to shoot clips longer than maybe 3-4 minutes so I don't have this experience, but it is something that I have tested and I know it happens. There isn't really a way around it.

Yeah, I used it in quite a few of my earlier Pocket 2 videos. The quality is decent but I think the Rode Wireless GO II sounds better though.

You can record each mic to a separate channel giving you a mono channel for each, or record both to both channels in stereo.

It's definitely adequate and sounds decent but the Wireless GO II is a tad better. But it also means if two people are vlogging together both can have clear audio because of the dual mics and channels. But I'll do a comparison video soon so you can hear both setups together.

What's the best way to vlog with the Pocket 2 without having the Rode Go ii receiver just dangling off the side? Is there a way to mount the receiver to the Pocket 2 handle in a clean and neat way?

I use a mini tripod that has a coldshoe mount on the side geni.us/jIUSm2 that means you can hold the P2 out a bit farther whilst also attaching the receiver to the tripod.

What do you use to "denoise" your footage from the Pocket 2? When I film in D-Cinelike, there is so much noise in the video footage.

I don't use any denoise software. The better light you have the less noisy the footage will be. Shoot in manual and try to keep your ISO low. This video might help kzfaq.info/get/bejne/kM5odq9-ybi1f3U.html

Low light and a high ISO will definitely be a factor. Do you shoot manual or auto? What's your ISO set to? What does the EV metre show or the histogram?

@@TamaraGabrielUK I use manual, ISO 100, EV meter between -1 and 1, I forgot the exact number. Histogram was slightly to the left middle.

OK, so you want to try and have your EV meter between 0 and +1 and expose to the right on the histogram, otherwise you'll find yourself increasing the exposure in post which will introduce noise. With the Pocket 2 I've gone up to ISO 400 as a max if needs be, but if you can pump more light into your room to increase the ambient light then you're gonna be able to achieve decent quality footage with minimal noise. I'm in the middle of working on a video for this so it will explain in more detail. But hope this helps in the meantime.

Hi I normally use Pocket 2 to record debates at Hyde Park which goes on for 60 minutes at a time, 1080pi at 30fps without the All-To-Do-Handle and it works fine. My question is Are there heating issues with the All-To-Do-Handle and it getting disconnected after 15-20 minutes of recording ? Thx. Great videos.
