DJI Pocket 2 Footage, Can It Film Good Low Light Footage?

I don't normally film in low light with the DJI Pocket 2, but on the odd occasion that I have, I've gotten good results by using certain camera settings. So, in this video, I'll share a few tips for filming in low light with the DJI Pocket 2, and hopefully, if you're struggling to get your footage looking decent in low light, these tips will help you out.

No problem. The Pocket 2 would be great for quick vlogs and travel. Just be sure to get a small power pack to charge it up on the go if you do get the Pocket 2.

Hey! Glad the video was useful 😊 As far as I know, I think LumaFusion accepts .cube LUT files. The LUTs that I created are both .cube and .look so the .cube files should work.

Hi Tamara, thank you for your videos! I have a well-lit scene, 4K/24 fps, ISO 100, D-Cinelike, and HQ enabled, all manual, but still, I'm getting that noise on the dark background. What could be the issue? Thanks. P.S. Did you use any noise reduction in this particular video? That wall behind you looks super clean.

I am impressed with the pocket 2. It's a fun little camera when given the right situation is an amazing piece of kit for shooting. You just have to work within its limitations and it will serve you well. I would like to see a new generation of this concept in a slightly bigger format (re larger sensor) and 10 bit recording. Coming in Pocket 3???

Hi, The video setting 4k/24fps was more jittery, and with 4k/60fps, the video is very smooth. Please advise the best settings for daytime shooting.

Thanks so much! This video actually helped me come to the decision to definitely buy this camera after my iphone's storage keeps getting full-up and I can't transfer videos and photos to my laptop. It also records in noticeably better quality than my iphone which is saying something as my iphones video quality is pretty damn good. I actually gave you 3 likes (I won't tell you how, but you can guess), lol!

Looks great but it seems you have to crank a 120d to 100% and stand close to it to get that quality? Does the cine-like profile work better than normal when turning the light down?

Not necessarily, it depends on how you want to light the scene as to how bright or how close you stand. I'll be sharing a follow up video soon going into a bit more detail about lighting and filming on low light with the Pocket 2.

Is it possible to use your LUTs in LumaFusion? Or do they have be used in Final Cut Pro or Adobe Premier?

Nope, they'll work in LumaFusion as long as LumaFusion accepts .cube or .look LUT files.

Would this be a good option for filming something like stand up comedy? often times the rooms are dark (other than the stage) and there is lots of movement. Just need something super portable for a tour where I need to pack super light!

It does pretty well in low-light but it really depends on how low light the room is. I’d say that if it’s your primary use case then potentially a mirrorless camera might be a better option. But yeah, with the Pocket 2, it really just depends on that light.

I don’t know what it is but I’ve tested my dji pocket 2 for a couple days now and the quality does not look like this at all. So many artifacts & pixelation.
