at this point, I'm just lucky my too smart dog hasn't caused himself real damage because he has eaten chocolate more than once before. and I'm lucky that he hasn't figured out how to open most doors because closed doors are the only reason he hasn't eaten more things than he shouldn't.

Actually not surprising at all ... I have something called PSVT (I'll spare you the in depth medical lesson on that) short story ... randomly the heart will, literally in a heartbeat, go from a resting heart rate to over 210. You feel like hyperventilating and if you don't control your breathing its just miserable, like you just can't get enough air. Because the body isn't getting oxygen or getting rid of carbon dioxide and other toxins you feel like you are standing on the face of the sun. Its just miserable, particularly if you don't understand what is happening ... like a dog. I guarantee you the last thing he wanted to do was ... anything besides stand still and gasp for air.

@@hlifestyle8521 I'm sorry I wasn't trying to be a troll or anything, just educate. GO TO THE HOSPITAL!! I had a heart attack in August with a full blockage of the biggest artery on the heart, don't mess with this. If you are in the US, they cannot refuse treatment and you can apply for financial assistance. The overwhelming majority, if not all, hospitals receive federal funding for indigent care so they are required to have a financial assistance program. If that doesn't work then you just make whatever payments you can make, I don't care if it's just $5 a month. It isn't a matter necessarily of how much you can pay it's a matter of making regular payments of whatever you can afford. They can test for an enzyme produced when the heart has been deprived of oxygen as far as heart attack goes. They should also refer you to a cardiologist and you can be put on a continuous monitor to find out what your heart is doing. I'm betting these days it's more like an fit bit watch instead of the big box you have to carry around. See above on the cost. In my case, I've had this as long as I can remember. Also, I'm a former Paramedic so I know how to make it stop. Look up vagal maneuvers. Without meds it happens about once a month and I stop it within a minute or two. With meds it happens in very short runs several times a day which IMHO is more dangerous (See R on T phenomenon, AKA sudden death heart attack). Apparently I'm weird because I am acutely aware of what my heart is doing, apparently most people can't feel it. You can also have an ablation done to prevent it but in my circumstances, at this point, it isn't worth messing with.

*UPDATE* My saluki x greyhound struck last night. I popped out for milk and the toad helped himself to one open (now empty) and one new, closed pack of doggie dental chews which he'd craftily stashed in his bed and lay on. I had to take my Bulldog to the vet recently and 2 vet techs and the vet himself couldn’t draw blood. They were pricking and prodding him in all 4 paws. @sudonim.
@sudonim. 2 жыл бұрын
I highly doubt they 'let' her get pregnant but unplanned accidents happen. There's not a lot of wiggle room with the time schedule for cats. Cats are typically spayed at 5-6 months because the first heat cycle starts around 6 months and once they've gone into heat you need to wait until it's ended(around a week) to get them fixed. An unspayed cat will go into heat every 2-3 weeks. Pregnancies last a little over 2 months. All it takes is being a week or two too late in spaying and you've got a real problem. I dont think most cat owners know that cats go into heat as often as they do or as young as they do. Some cats go into heat as early as 4 months..well before the recommended spaying age.

I look forward to seeing it! You are all so amazing in what you do and the care you provide all the animals. I find the availability of the equipment you use such as X-rays, ultra sounds and such incredible. I’m in Alberta, Canada and such equipment out here to diagnose the issue is so expensive that most people end up opting euthanasia or going in debt thousands of dollars just for an ultrasound. I love that you have these treatment tools available and all that you do for your patients and their families. You do wonderful work and I am in awe of your dedication, thank you so much.

I'm in bc and yes, vet care is outrageously pricey. But in These shows, I'm assuming these people are paying for the service, are they not? If it's free cuz it's filmed they'd have a line up out the door down the block.

This is a reply for imamachine. My comment was made with positivity on the wonderful work of all the people of Bondi Vet and to say thank you to them. Maybe read my comment again, I did not imply their services were free nor should it be. It would be wonderful to have more available equipment to assist us with the care of our lovely pets in my city, with more availability the cost would also become less than it is now with only one mobile service that does ultra sounds. Again, thank you to all the people that do their wonderful work at Bondi vet, you are all awesome!!!!!!

My brother shared a chocolate bar with me as a kid, little did it know he stole it from the drug store, it was Chocolate Ex-Lax a Laxitive we fought over the bathroom for the next 3 or 4 hours it is something I'll never forget! Good times! 🤣

I did that too as a 3 year old. My grandma had that chocolate Ex-Lax, and I found it when snooping in her medicine cabinet. I ate the whole thing, and had the worst cramps and diarrhea for hours. I did end up going to the hospital for it. Learned my lesson too---stay out of medicine cabinets. (Jan Griffiths).

When my golden retriever was 3-4 months old, my new roommate accidentally left a 10 ounce bag of Hershey kisses by her bedside and then left on vacation. I didn't go near her room so I didn't know my dog ate it. He ate the foil and everything so no evidence. Never got sick, thank God, because when she returned in a month we found out he'd eaten it. I literally didn't know, he didn't even get sick to his stomach.

Many years ago we had to leave my chi-terrier home for a short errand, but instead of putting the chocolate gifts that we had been given from Sweden, mother pushed them under the bed. I didn't know she had done this. Hiding it from my young sister and not thinking about Kitty getting into it. We got home and she had eaten so much of it and I was terrified! And very upset with my mom for being so irresponsible. She did fine without any vet. care thank God! I was very frightened but it was late at night when we got home. She was sick and had loose stools for a few days. We were very blessed. Kitty was my world and decades later I still mourn her loss after a long life. Now my husband, shown here in the profile, have a Papillion that is our darling older girl. Today was vet day for her and thankfully they were able to treat her and send her home. No chocolate for Molly! So many emergencies and health concerns can be avoided by being responsible pet parents. Our cat never goes outside. And we watch Molly like a hawk and use a leash for her. Garbage is in the cabinet and gets taken out daily...never out of our site!

My parents springer spaniel/border collie ate a whole box of Cadbury miniature heroes one Christmas. He was 3 years old at the time and actually jamp up onto the kitchen counter to get the chocolate on a shelf. He needed an emergency operation for pancreatitis and nearly passed away. He ended up pulling through, but he died of a pancreatic tumour at age 10.
