Dog Mountain Hike: In Spring, Columbia River Gorge is covered with vibrant wildflowers. Dog Mountain Trail is one of the most popular and challenging hikes in the Portland area. The trail begins at the Washington side of the Columbia River, and continuously ascends through the woods. The forest opens onto the hills with a carpet of yellow Balsamroot flowers and a stunning view of the Oregon side of the Gorge! Another half mile through the steep flowery hill, finally made it to the top!

Wonderful wildflowers Sunny! I loved seeing the ones in the forest, like the trilliums, and then seeing so many out on the open hillsides. I’ve never seen so many trilliums in one area like that either, amazing! Really enjoyed your videography and notes along the way! Maybe I’ll get to hike there next year. Very inspiring views over the river…thanks for sharing your hike! 😄🌻🌻⭐⭐

I'm very amazed to see so many trilliums near the summit! I was there for a while to admire them and almost forgot to make it to the summit 😄 Balsomroots are impressive but there are so many other wildflowers on the hill and in the wood! I just enjoy hiking this trail. I recommend hiking there 💕
