Hello Sunny, Is there any chance you could give me details of how you booked your Alta via 1 hiking trip and any tips etc on the best time of year & things to plan for? I did e-mail you, however if you are like me, most of my mail goes to the junk box and i don't see it. So, you could have missed it.

For booking the Alta Via 1 hike, I emailed each rifugio individually to reserve a bed. Each rifugio has a different time frame for accepting reservations-many start around December of the previous year, but some don’t begin until February or March. Once they responded, they requested a bank transfer for the deposit. I know it’s complicated and wish they would set up web reservations! I hope this helps. I recommend starting early. The best time for the AV 1 hike is July to September. I did it in July. Sorry for missing your email. I checked my junk mail but couldn’t find it.

I think it took me about 2-3 hours. Of course, I stopped many times to film this 😉 This trail involves a steady ascent with impressive view. Have a good trip!

I think there are some water fountains along the way includes other huts in between. I brought a filter in case, and used once. There are plenty of streams and lakes as well. Have a happy hike!

This is really amazing journey you taken. I plan to visit Mattherhorn Glacier Paradise this mid of June. I would like to experience to walk from Matterhorn Glacier Paradise- Testa Grigia. And, i plan to take cable car back to Matterhorn Glacier Paradise. There is little information on this trail on youtube and internet. May i know what is distance between these two places and how long it takes to walk to Testa Grigia ? Is wearing normal hiking shoe good enough for this walk?

Mid June is a good time to visit Zermatt! I'm not sure the ski slope and the glacier conditions during summer, I hope it's good. Good thing is the cable car is back on the operation, you can ride back to Matterhorn Glacier Paradise. Enjoy your trip!

This is beautiful. Very well edited. I plan to hike the Tour of Monte Rosa and it covers this area. I love it all times of the year but even more stunning in summer when the landscape gives us many colours and lakes are thawed and can see all the reflections.

I agree... just have to budget well. With Swiss half fare card, all trains and cable cars were 1/2 price, and having only one drink with dinner.

I think I was there sometime in morning... I stayed at Aescher night before, and I left there after breakfast. There were many people along the lake though.

The trail from Äscher to Seealpsee is REALLY dangerous! Many peopl died on this track because of wrong shoes, bad hiking equipment, not being experienced. They slipped and fell down the slope. Be very careful! Don't underestimate this trail!

I think the trail along Schäfler Ridge is scarlier. It was a steep trail.

Careful. A woman fell 300' down that mountain last week. The military had to rescue her with a helicopter.

Wonderful wildflowers Sunny! I loved seeing the ones in the forest, like the trilliums, and then seeing so many out on the open hillsides. I’ve never seen so many trilliums in one area like that either, amazing! Really enjoyed your videography and notes along the way! Maybe I’ll get to hike there next year. Very inspiring views over the river…thanks for sharing your hike! 😄🌻🌻⭐⭐

I'm very amazed to see so many trilliums near the summit! I was there for a while to admire them and almost forgot to make it to the summit 😄 Balsomroots are impressive but there are so many other wildflowers on the hill and in the wood! I just enjoy hiking this trail. I recommend hiking there 💕

I do enjoy your videos Sunny, i found your channel a few months ago while watching harmen hoek and several other silent hiking videos. Gotta say i like your style. What do you use for your main footage, is it just a hand held mobile phone? An equipment list would be of interest. I can't understand why you get so few views for your videos. I subscribed after watching your Dolomite trip, got my parents subscribed as well. I also introduced your channel to my ex wife, she really enjoys your trips, she is also Japanese. Anyway, keep up the videos, and i hope you tell us with what camera/phone you use to take the footage.
