I just graduated bootcamp yesterday, and it was the best decision I've made the marine corps is for me.

It never fails to give me chills and enormous pride of being a retired U S MARINE.

Every Marine in combat does what he can while working under the rules of engagement, dictated by senior officers far from the field of battle. When he recognizes what he's hearing doesn't agree with what's unfolding before him, his unit's radio reception is suddenly garbled. Then his unit gets up and does what needs to be done. It's easier to ask for forgiveness than to ask for permission. Lives are saved by taking the initiative and frankly, you're fighting for the man next to you, not some politician who doesn't have a clue about the rules he imposes on you.

True heroes!! My son will be 14 next month and he can't hardly wait to earn the title of US Marine, he works out 6 days a week and has since he was 10, he plays on his school baseball team and travel baseball and makes straight A's, his self motivation and discipline puts mine to shame. My dad was a K9 MP 15 years ago and broke his back and he was upset that he couldn't stay in the army and to this day he says that he misses the army and the brother hood . I cant wait for when it is my chance to join the army.
