Ya I figured out that the handheld and the collars will both use garmin antennas! I went from a garmin to a dogtra and absolutely love mine. Best decision I ever made

Can you remove the antenna on the collar if you just want to use the e collar part?

no, the system needs both antennas to comunicate

@@hoffmanbmxbikerider they are great antennas! I have used em on the garmins and dogtra! Definitely get better signal then the factory antennas

What happens when you don't have cell service on your phone?

You can pre download a map of the area you'll be in, you don't need cell signal for the collars to communicate

I hate my dogtra. I have lost signal at 600 yards. I was at the top of the hill and she was just down a slope. I had to beep her off the hare

What do you think was the issue? I'm not seeing many issues like that during my research. Have you changed antenna or anything?
