when we look for these on the s /p what Time frame should we use? do we use the daily timeframe?

Thanks for the video Casey! Question, I was developing a strategy on the SP500 and was taking a look at the AVG MAE in order to set a logical catastrophic stoploss, which improved my return to DD ratio a good amount. Is this a form of overfitting? As I am fiddling with my results as Kaufman states. Hopefully I made some sense and you understand what i am trying to get at. Thanks again !

any filter you add, should affect a good percentage of the trades and one or (preferably) more strategy metrics. in your case if the SL is removing 5 bad trades, then you are in overfit territory, further investigation is needed.
