PLOT: Dr. John Dolittle lives in solitude behind the high walls of his lush manor in 19th-century England. His only companionship comes from an array of exotic animals that he speaks to on a daily basis. But when young Queen Victoria becomes gravely ill, the eccentric doctor and his furry friends embark on an epic adventure to a mythical island to find the cure.
CAST: Robert Downey Jr. stars as the title character, alongside Antonio Banderas and Michael Sheen in live action roles, and a voice cast including Emma Thompson, Rami Malek, John Cena, Kumail Nanjiani, Octavia Spencer, Tom Holland, Craig Robinson, Ralph Fiennes, Selena Gomez, and Marion Cotillard.

Most Americans can pick out an Irish, English, or Scottish accent. Some of us (like myself) can place more specific regional accents. I don't hear Welsh accents here much at all though and I'm not very good at placing them. I think most Americans would assume it's an English accent (although honestly, I'm not even sure many Americans would even know Wales is a place 🙄).

GunMaster X11 the whole film was shot silent except the real people, and then the sound added after, his first attempt at the accent was so bad they had to do it again and add the voice on.

The Doolittle screenwriters clearly noticed that successful Pixar films were 90% kid-oriented and 10% jokes for adults to understand, and thought it would be a great idea to invert that ratio.

@@mlvendetta2492Yes, they are. What did you think of his attempt at a Welsh accent? (Ur handle suggests ur Welsh) am I wrong...is it in fact good? Theres some convincing moments but overall It just sounds more like Windsor Davies (whose parents were Welsh, I know) pretending to be a pirate than anything resembling what you'd expect of Dr Dolittle. Although, reportedly RDJ listened to interviews with Michael Sheen to try to learn the accent... which explains a lot... he's very over the top most of the time...

@@lotekpro it’s not the best I’ve seen, it sounds a bit Scottish but it’s a hard accent to do and I know that from experience, I’ve had to fake a welsh accent my entire life to fit in and it’s not an easy accent to do so it’s not bad for a North American
