Dollar Store DVDs: A Hidden Gem?

Күн бұрынHi guys and welcome back to yasminecollects! Even though I was born in the wrong generation, that doesn't stop me from finding relics of the past wherever I can. Discount stores and odd corridors are my specialty, and since you all liked my last thrift with me video today we're headed to the dollar store!
Dollar tree finds aside, let's stroll down the aisles of trinkets, toys, and movies nobody has ever heard of. DVD may be on its way out (for real this time), so I'm eager to find what we can in store.
And yes, we all know I despise the decline of physical media. Why own what you watch when you can r e n t i t ????

I was sad when Radio Shack went out of business 😢😭 but not sad about best buy though. The streaming apps did them in

It's one big reason not to shop best buy. I do less and less after the screwed over customers with the new rewards program.

nah. we have amazon and ebay. walmart and target still sells the same dvds best buy had.

Thanks Yasmine for the video ! 9:45 The weird dude is Joe Pesci, one of the best actors who can combine the comedic and gangster genres. He is best known for his roles in films such as "Goodfellas", "Casino", and "My Cousin Vinny". In these films, he manages to make people laugh and scare them with equal ease. You need to watch " my cousin Vinny" it's calssic.

As a uni student going to my local charity shop and buying DVDs for £1 is the best way to watch media. I once got series 2 of doctor who and a buffy box set for £3, that helped me procrastinate my assignments for a while. Also I once got a really funky furguson CRT from a charity shop for £7 because they hadn't tested it, all it took was a little clean and it works perfectly.

@@smasherjosh5000 Can't tell if you're being jokey or not, but yes I have found unopened DVDs in charity shops multiple times. My guess is instead of throwing away DVDs they can't sell, retailers just give them to charity shops.

8:22 Talk about a very random movie to spot at a Dollar store, Heaven's Burning. A deep cut 90's Australian Russel Crowe movie. It's a super intense and violent action-drama-romance film. Really well made but not for the faint of heart. Some unsuspecting soul is going to be digging through family friendly Christian movies and end up picking up a hard R Tarantino-esque violent film that time forgot.

Cold Chisel on CD. How random! Great Australian band. I do visit the local op shops for CD, DVD’s and Bluray’s. I’m very selective on what I buy but I won’t say no to foreign, independent and arthouse films.

Go for it even if it's a dollar, I'm still trying to look for on dvd... My uncles has this on VHS we would always barrow this from them... It's a classic... My cousin Vinny is a super good one too... 👍
