In this GameSmith Tutorial we are focusing on building tabletop scatter terrain that is almost entirely built for us. As crafters, we are constantly looking for items that we can alter and change into tabletop scatter terrain, but sometimes we locate terrain pieces that are mostly complete when we find them. I call these items “80% builds” because they are mostly table ready when I find them. Often we need only provide the finishing touches or put the items on a base so they can be used in our tabletop games like Dungeons & Dragons, Pathfinder, and Warhammer 40k.
Items like those covered in this video (trees, cacti, and mushrooms) can quickly be made table ready with just a few supplies. They are prefect for the novice terrain builder since the pieces are mostly finished and new crafters don’t need a lot of experience to get awesome results. Likewise, thee scatter terrain pieces can be quickly altered by experienced crafters to mass produce them enough to cover a play surface.
From all of us here at TheGameSmith, we hope you find these scatter terrain projects informative and helpful. We’ll see you at the table!
