Listen, I love Louis just like the rest of us, but the actor who plays Santiago deserves a raise! The way he ate Louis up at that dinner table! Girl, I was screaming! Santiago had all those head, mouth and hand movements Louis does down pact! 👏🏽

The guy who plays Santiago is incredible! Talk about a role someone was made for, my goodness. What I love about the changes in Santiago's writing for this adaptation is that I fully get where he's coming from, even though its clear that he's being a bully more than a genuine protector of the coven. He dislikes the rules just as much as everyone else but now imagine these random new people show up and basically break every rule that exists, only for your boss to pat them on the head and give them special treatment? It's so unfair.

When a Dom and a Sub reverse roles in BDSM it's called a switch. And Armand is well versed in BDSM because that's the dynamic he had with his maker (In the books).

Given what happened with Lestat last season, Louis probably has some trauma around being picked up and flown by the vampires he dates. I, too, would be like, “Nah, I can climb.” 😆 My guess right now is that Claudia’s death will happen in episode 7, and episode 8 will be mainly focused on Dubai, and Louis dealing with the fallout of remembering (possibly recovering some memories?) about the circumstances surrounding her death. Your reviews are always so much fun to watch!

Yes! Was wondering when you were going to give us an Ep 4 recap! I LOVED seeing New Orleans Louis come out to play this episode. He shed his bohemian photographer persona with the laissez-faire attitude and brought back the savvy pimp/business owner who takes cares of his loved ones and doesn't take s**t from anyone. I loved the coven's shock at how powerful he is. Santiago is lucky Louis let him keep his tongue.

No he said it when Armand was comparing Magnus' relationship with Lestat to Lestat's relationship with Louis. So that's what Louis was having a negative reaction towards, and he clearly didn't appreciate the comparison.

Am I the only one who likes Santiago?😂 (even though he's clearly being more of a bully the more Louis and Armand get closer) He's messy, petty and for sure a ticking time bomb but I respect how he's willing to stand on his business. I do see where he's coming from because imagine working for a super strict boss and jumping through hoops to keep your job (where others have been fired for literally breathing the wrong way) and then one day some new guy shows up, barely contributes and breaks so many rules, but gets all the special treatment and perks? For sure the vampire rules are a bit outdated at this point because Armand was able to leave the sewers and they no longer truly hunt in the shadows, but its the fact that there's a double standard where members like Santiago get their makers' deaths thrown in their faces for the slightest mistep while Louis gets to prance around and enjoy their protection without making a contribution of his own.

I LOOOOOOVE Santiago! He’s so confident, and sassy, and untrustworthy, hot tempered. We’re actually besties, the only problem in our friendship is that hes untrustworthy, hot tempered 😂 It would be obvious to me that I’m being treated differently and because of that reason I need to leave, but not poor Claudia.

Vampires are highly sexual, but their search for a Companion is so much deeper than sex. All Vampire's greatest fear is being alone. Then have such long lives that loneliness drives them out in the sun or throw themselves into the fire. The Companion helps them adjust to a new age.

And Louis doesn't seem to get that! My goodness, he makes it so hard to defend him sometimes 😂 The sly look on his face when he basically said "you can call us companions if you want, but I don't see us that way🙃" My dude!!!! I don't know if it's inherently a kind of wall that he puts up to protect himself going all the way back from when he was human and trying to make a living during difficult circumstances, or if Louis is just a sympathetic jerk 😂

I just want to understand how we got from “I’m not into labels” to the Louis that we see in present time because those are two TOTALLY different people. They both piss me off because I love them, but they are both awful 😂

The LuLu play is basically about Claudia. And Armand KNOWS that!!!!!! And it also reminds me of Paul and how he died. I understand Claudia wanting Louis to come to her defense. But that is Armand's coven that Louis is NOT apart of. He can complain all he wants. But his non companion is the leader and will do what he wants to do. And Claudia has to comply cuz she happily joined that coven that Louis said he didn't trust. The fact that Santiago clocked their NOLA accent should've let them know they are not safe. And Armand told Louis don't lie to them, they are not forgiving. Smh Louis is sounding real Pimp DuLac-ish with that "You sure about that Arun?" All that was missing was "I can be your mother, your father, your everything baby" **que Willie Hutch's I Choose You**

That play is all Claudia! It's so cruel. And the fact that she doesn't see it is so strange to me. Good point about Louis not being able to do much about how Claudia is being treated, but on the flip side, if he really really wanted to, he knows how to get his way. It just doesn't matter enough to him to put forth the effort. Claudia knows it too.

Hahaha, yes - seems like the French in that era were like Hamilton lovers who see the play again and again and again and again. They were fresh out of a world war, so I get that audience may have wanted something lighter - but an unstable child kicking life’s proverbial bucket isn’t exactly a light, standing ovation type of moment. Lighter than Nazis carting off your neighbors, bombing and starvation? Yes, but still not very buoyant.

Yeah this episode left me in a tailspin! Louis is playing games, he went from pimp to Karen in a matter of seconds with his "I'm used to running things" to "I'm a bit wet", him and Armon both bother my spirit at this point. I NEED to know what went down in that 70s interview but I'm also afraid for Daniel. This show is absolutely addictive, feel better and say hello to Blue for me. ♥️

That line ' I'm a bit wet' was Louis taking the top position between the two. Did you notice how Louis was holding it for Lestat? His sub position.

Armand said that Louis "summoned" him, Louis stared him down the entire time, had Armand hold his umbrella, called him by his brothel name, and then had him light his cigarette. Louis was in full blown pimp mode and teaching Armand how he "runs" things.

I saw a preview for the upcoming episodes… and with everything I’ve seen so far: I’m wondering if Daniel’s Parkinson’s is a result of his encounter with Armand and Louis , back in ‘73? Also, him not liking Armand from the start , though he doesn’t remember, could explain everything.

Cuz, we know you are going through it so take all the time you need to develop your content. Your recaps are worth the wait! The way I laughed at your assessment of this episode. Girl, I exactly thought of Shirley Temple when Claudia sang that dark little ditty. But now thanks to your recap I now have "Animal Crackers in My Soup," stuck in my head on a damn loop. Also Robert's Rules of Order for Vampires? Girl, get out of here! Like Louis is the boyfriend who thinks he's an great musician but can play 3 chords and "Crash into Me" on his guitar. Pimp Louis is my favourite Louis, not sad "I want to be Where the People Are" Louis. I know you probably don't have space for any more shows to recap but I pray in my soul you've watched Diarra from Detroit because I think you would love it.

I'm really waiting to see if or when they're going to bring Lastant back because in the book, he's not dead, and he could play with your head if he wanted to. I think Armond knows Lastant is still alive but he might not be strong enough present day to do anything about it.

I noticed Anne rice’s son is an executive producer for the series…I wonder how much of his input was used to make Louis-Lestat a gay love story, His first book was definitely reminiscent of her writing style. But, we all suspected it - even before mainstream tv and movies would show it…companion = beloved, partner, husband or wife if that’s the preferred title). Veering off to another Louisiana based series - True Blood. Remember when Pam told Bill & Eric why don’t you guys just f*ck already and spare us the drama? This series isn’t playing games with that aspect of the story line. I dunno how many of you guys read her vampire series, but they were HYPER erotic…and the Mayfair series with the witch-loving Asher were ultra bodice-rippers. I don’t know much about Dom/Sub relationships, but from a psychological standpoint, I think subs have a bit of an edge - they can control the Dom’s response by adjusting their actions…want praise and adoration? Be their version of good. Want to be punished? Be terrible enough in their eyes to be considered bad.

I’m so confused why the vampires have to follow Armand ? Why can’t they be on their own why do they have to be apart of the “vampire clique”? I personally don’t like to be told what to do if it’s not something to do with my job - so It boggles my mind why they stay at this theater group. Santiago clearly doesn’t want to be with this group - so why not bounce? He also would be a better leader.

They live in fear of Armand’s power. I don’t think they all have the same abilities or they have not honed them yet. If he can stop time, what could he do to them in those lost minutes? And he can create fire. None of them want to be the pile of ashes someone sweeps from the stage.

@@watchwithmeellebee and why does Claudia have to be apart of the group but not Louie. The group doesn’t know their real story so it’s easy for Louis and Claudia to bounce. She can’t be okay with all these rules and treated like a slave. I just don’t understand why any of them just don’t bounce and why would Armand care so much to rule over them. Also, why does Louis and Claudia sleep in coffins but in Dubai Louis and Armand sleep in beds? Why not just cover the windows so no light comes in.

@@sassk7443Claudia wanted to be a member. She has a romantic notion of being around “her own kind.” The theater group is a holdover from the “satan worshipping” coven that Lestat destroyed. Many of the vampires did go off on their own, lost their minds, and destroyed themselves. They need the group. Plus, this way they can be themselves and have the Food pay to come and see them.
