Large Builds and Structure Block Limits | Pro Tip | Minecraft Tutorials Java Edition 1.16+
This is a Minecraft Tutorial made in Java Edition 1.16.1 (This has not been tested in Bedrock Edition (xbox/ps4/switch/win10) and will most likely not work or work differently for those editions as the game mechanics are a bit different).
In this video I go over some methods of saving and loading large builds that exceed the structure size limits of a structure block. I show you how to create a chain of structure blocks to make saving, loading and transferring structures.

Thank you! I’m glad it helped. If I’m understanding your question, yes. You can change anything you like within the structure block, nothing will change until you execute it. You can do anything you need to with a single structure block unless the build is bigger than the structure block capture area.

@@The_Last_Quantum Hey Dom! I have finished a big project of mine thx to your help with this information trick I did not know of until I saw this. ^ ͜ ^ thank you. I just finished a datapack and found a good way to load in and delete structure blocks when loading in big structures and wanted to share with you my findings. Redstone_block>structure>observer>structure_block The Redstone block activated the structure block to load in the section. Then the observer sees the action and activated the other structure block to replace the 4 blocks with its self as one, back to air blocks: deleting it. When you place Redstone block first next to before placing a command/structure block. It will not activate it until it gets activated when loaded in with a structure block (or by Redstone block if you where to brake it by accident. This method is helpful with doing builds but I recommend to think about requiring back ups of your world every time you make a change to make sure you don’t accidentally set off a delete structure block tick. (I’m sure you can do this with command planks but structure blocks make it easier to see what I’m doing. But it can be just use for as a guiding tool for the command block to line up the coordinates) Any way thx to your help I finished my data-pack project called; “La Monolith Av War”. I do not have it complete but it’s almost done and plan to upload it to planet Minecraft. Would love to see what you helped me out to complete ^ ͜ ^ I’m adding you into the credits page for all the KZfaqrs that have helped me out with this project of mine. And want you to be a part of it! Why am I not able to interact with my structure block in my server I'm placing the block and it autoturns into save mode and I can't open it I've tried using debug stick but still can't open it Please help And yeah I'm in creative with the defaultgamemode as creative

if your server is modded in any way shape or form, thats most likely the issue. if its not, then youd be better off contacting minecraft support

So its working, but when generating naturally in the world, the structures are generating while being rotated outwards (if its a building). How would I fix?

You have to pay attention to how you save and load it. That’s the whole thing mentioned about the axis indicator direction.

@@The_Last_Quantum I want it to generate in worldgen though, and from the looks of it, the worldgen rotation of structures is random, could that be the reason?

@@celsiusqc it all depends on how you saved it and how you are loading it.

You would do it the same way and if you can’t, then that mod breaks the way vanilla Minecraft works. You’ll always require to have that mod installed too.

@@nailsdhay5255 I’m not sure that you’d be able to do that with this. You’d have to incorporate an elaborate system of command blocks but I’m sure there are better ways for what you’re looking for
