LYRICS:
Hey, these ponies say that I'm so talented
And they all say my songs are great
Sometimes I think it's all I'm good for
I'm hoping this is worth the wait
You know you'll always be my best pony
You're really more than I deserve
I wanna thank you for inspiring me
I shouldn't lie when truth will serve
I don't remember how it used to be
I can't imagine it was good
But everything just makes me worried now
I'd come and find you if I could
I really thought that I could save you
But on the day I wasn't there
I don't know how I'm meant to help you now
Maybe you're fine and you don't care
I hope you'll find yourself a place where you
Can just be everything you are
I like to think that I could be there too
I hope I didn't go too far
I hope you'll be okay without me
I hope you'll need me all the time
Maybe we'll do something just now and then
Maybe you'll help me find a rhyme
I wonder why I can't just have something
In life simplicity is grand
Still feel like every day is brighter now
There's so much left to understand
I hope one day I'll get to see you
I hope I'll get to see you smile
I hope one day you'll really like yourself
I know one day you're gonna fly
We could retire to the stratosphere
And just leave all of it behind
But I don't know if you would want to
Or if I'm even on your mind
Sometimes I wish that you just hated me
That might be easier to bear
Than being perfectly inadequate
When you're in need of someone dear
Sometimes I think it's just too big for me
What do I do with all this love
I need to find this little earth pony
Can't do a thing from up above
I hope that nopony replaces me

As a recording engineer, I must say that this is actually a *superbly* recorded song! Everything is extremely crisp and clean sounding, nothing overlaps anything else, there's no mud in the mix or anything. The vocals sit very nice and compliment the instrumentation spectacularly. Very good work, Replacer!

dropkickproductiontx thank you :) the song was very important to me at the time, and in a way it's still sitting there daring me to top it...I put a lot of thought into everything but I never considered it any sort of audio engineering triumph, so I'm really happy to hear these thoughts.

@@replacer I don't know if you feel the same, but to me your recent song, "days of silence" finally topped this one as a creative masterpiece. The myriad of ways you can interpret the lyrics as well as the beautiful composition really sets it above all else in my eyes. Even six months later I still can't get enough of it!

I started watching and interacting with mlp very early 2012, around the end of the second season and a bit before this song was released. I miss the early times of the fandom. Not that its bad now, its just... different. All the creativity on youtube and other places surrounding the first 2 seasons were insane. You could click around on related mlp videos for hours and find hundreds of budding musicians like yourself. Now most have moved onto bigger and better things but its nice to see you're one who hasn't forgotten. (and deleted your youtube in an effort to commit brony internet suicide) Thank you Replacer for the nostalgia and great times

I actually would like to disagree here. Yes he profited, but don't you think the others did too? There was a supply and demand, and not to mention, maybe TLT just wanted to try other things. He's done some great original music to other remixes. And that bit about FNAF, I think that fandom in itself almost gave him a breakdown (at least that is the concencus of theory) KZfaq is or was, a good way for people that had talent, or could bring back consistent views, to gain some money. It was and still is to some, a job. So I think you are judging too harshly, but that is just my viewpoint on that matter.

Okay coming back to this because this is likely my favorite song that came from the brony era. The slow and melodic piano bits are incredible and it's not something I heard often during those times. The lyrics told a beautiful yet heartbreaking story and the way the words are sung give it so much emotion. The ending is superb, the timing is amazing. Bravissimo, encore!!

Just wanted to come back here to comment that.. this song is one of the few songs that got me into brony music. I remember when I was like 10 (early 2013) and I went home one day and got on KZfaq (it was late at night at the time) then, as usual, watched pony videos on my family's Computer (hella cringe, ik). Instead of watching episodes, pmv's, and fanmade videos that day I searched up "pony songs" I think then, I scrolled down a bit and found this. I listened to this song and... It made me want more! Ever since I've loved the music this fandom has produced. I've been a brony since 2011 but it wasn't until late 2012 - early 2013ish that I got into the music side of this fandom (ik, I said early 2013 earlier but tbh... I don't remember whether it was late 2012 or early-ish 2013). In general I just wanted to say thank you Replacer, that you for helping me to discover the music side of this fandom. And yes, I know that sounds really random but it's true. It didn't all start with this song but it was this song that, in a way, reeled me in more. I honestly would've thought that, before I found this fandom in 2011, that a show about colorful ponies and freindship would make such an impact on my life. And I also wouldn't have imagined that the fandom that emerged from it would mean so much to as well.

Yarp. The great thing about the fandom is just how many great songs produced. I still have them and enjoyed them. Meanwhile current fandoms like FNAF, UTale and SU got too much anger and arguments in it rather than churning great original piece. Right now I'm stepping into My Hero Academia fandom, I just hope this fandom doesn't fell into the horrible negativity pit like the others.

The very beginning and ending of this song are just incredible. Instantly gets going with a fast paced and catchy melody and closes with a completely original take on the melody that acts as a very satisfying closure. It's apparent how much better you've gotten in terms of your vocals since 11 years ago but your stylization is apparent even that far back, which is really cool. Overall this song is really cool and if I had found it when it first came out I know I'd have listened to it a 100 times over lol.

The beat is perfect for head bobbing, and everything else is so deliciously minimal until the appropriate time comes to deliver the emotional 1-2 to the face. That time signature change too, damn. Oh wow. I love the vocal to this, how it sounds really quiet and almost whispered. The mixture of orchestral timbres with a jungle beat is quite inspired. And sweet jesus, that piano solo in the middle. This is straight up fantastic!

I'm not sure why I wasn't subbed, but that problem was quickly corrected. This is a wonderful piece that provokes actual emotional responses, unlike much of the music out there today. Thank you for writing and recording this song.

Replacer, I have a few niche artists that I follow pretty closely, and even after following them closely for many years this one song is easily top three for me. Thank you. Keep on keeping on.

I cannot even express how much I love this song. And all of your songs, because you have never gone wrong once. But this track is chillingly beautiful. I don't care how many subscribers you have or the views per video, in my mind you are absolutely the best there is.

That's a theory I heard somewhere about MLP Tales. The Earth Ponies were tired of the oppression from Pegasi and Unicorns, so they slaughtered all of them, and years later, they're just going to highschool and doing Jazzercize and wearing leggings, forgetting the genocide of their oppressors generations before.

This is music at his finest. This would put a lot of musicians playing on the radio to shame. Really. It's incredible we have composers this talented in our fandom. People should make listen this song to their close friend(s) who still don't get it about MLP. That would give them the idea how much we love those ponies. How far we go to show it. Musically.

Lilo: This is you, this red line is your kindness level. As you can see it is unnaturally high for someone your size. we need to be careful not to let it get any higher or you might explode from kindness overload.

there really aren't words to express how amazing this song is, it just gives off so much emotion and you can tell that you put a lot of thought and work into this. the implied story is also very deep and not just something anyone could come up with or share. this deserves the very HIGHEST and EPICEST of brohoofs. though, i don't think even that would be enough. keep on making music... and this may sound cheesy but, thank you.

Thank you, united we stand and together we love. We are Bronies and I'm proud to say I'm a part of this, I know all of you are too. So keep it up guys, because without the fandom, people like me are nothing but drunken monsters. You made me who I am, thank you so very much, for all you've done. ~Edward Vocalism
