Awww yes, I've been waiting for this one! Tir Na Nog and Eriu are my people! Outside of Ur, they were the first race I ever played even though I suck with them.

Not a problem, I suck with them as well! But they are fun to play, it's nice as a break from playing human nations with their higher stats and good thugs!

@@Archris17 Funny you should say that, I do have a video on thugs if you're interested, otherwise just try out different builds in single player to get a feel of whats needed for a thug versus different units, you'll never be able to make a catch all thug, but you can make a pretty effective one versus indies fairly easily, just have a decent amount of defence or defensive buffs, and some way of dealing with multiple units like aoe attacks or fear!

@@Archris17sidhe lords could easily thug against melee troops even without gear. Script should look something like displace body+shroud of bewilderment+dance of ephemeral swords+attack. If you want you could add barkskin to have somewhat usable protection, or you can add luck. You should use them in parties of at least 2-4. Also you could fluff them with moss body and quickness using bean sidhe. If you are playing Eiru you could add mistform and ironskin using milesian mages with corresponding randoms. Additionally you can craft bracers and use temper armors

A very useful guide. You've truly perfercted the format. I watched yours and Babel Builder's guide now and I find it interesting how you both took different approaches to the pretender Philosophy, but I do suppose you have taken a more general look at what kind of way one can make use of bless and slaces for Tir na Nog. Really appreciate it, great video as always. :D

The best thing about how other creators do their videos and their thoughts is they'll have the potential for different values on how to play a nation, design a pretender, how to play etc, and it's hearing these differing opinions that help you get better, myself included! The relationship between the letters in the names and the letters pronounced still catches me off guard.

Yeah, Irish is certainly different that's for sure! In Gaelic you would say Sith for the Sidhe, both pronounced the same, and I never made the connection until a commenter pointed it out for me!

This man putting out the best Dom 6 content anywhere atm! If you are taking suggestions for future deep dive topics I would love to see some explanations around: Assassins/Assassin Expansion Dominion spread (probably more a quick tips) Globals/Global slots/ how to dispel globals/how do I get my friend to stop casting enchanted forests every game

For an imprisoned rainbow pretender, I would heavily recommend the frost father. way more point efficient.

Oh yeah he usually is! In this case though the sorceress is better for our paths, with the national discount she's the same cost as the frost father and has starting paths in death and glamour, two of our higher paths and still the 10 point cost for new paths, making her slightly more point efficient in this specific case!

I love that Lugh looks crazy good, and then is somehow still better rhan he looks if you don't check out the details in mod inspector. That aoe weapon he has, it's intrinsic so he'll still have it when you give him forged hand slot items. Those paths, he's actually one lower with +1 all paths so he's a great empower target. His biggest downside is he's good at too many different things and he can't do all of them at once. That and he's the only national hero so it doesn't feel as worth going high luck try for heroes. Unlike Eriu where there are 4 and a multi hero.

Very thorough guide and funny opener!! I am still going through all the possibilities with weapon blesses on holy commanders using the Sling of Shards. It works well with Slowing Weapons and Thunder Weapons in particular

Slowing weapons is a cool idea, it goes quite well with your Tuatha Warriors as well to be honest, especially if you know you're going to be going up against Giants just to make their skills even more oppressive in comparison!

Illusory army and illusions in general got buffed recently as they used to always pass the moral check when they got repelled, which led to them taking the automatic 1 magic dmg from the repel damage roll and then dying. Now they just dont attack which means they are mkre likely to live for a dew turns soaking dmg instead of dealing false dmg which is less important

I certainly tried my best! Irish is a little different but similar if that makes sense, at least I know the Baobhan Sith is right, my granny told me enough tales about them when I was younger!

@@ChazzyBurger Cool, well I only knew about the Bean Sidhes. My family lived in Dublin for a year (I'm Swedish) but that was after I had already moved out. My sister (who was 6 at the time) learned some Irish in school, and she's got this perfect Irish accent now which I'm so jealous of... brits never believe her when she says she's from Sweden (I'm sure Irish could tell the difference tho, that was like 20 years ago).

26:13 Shambler skin armor is a much easier and cheaper way to get bishop fish on land than amulets of the fish

Haven't watched this video yet, but wanted to leave a comment you can see hopefully rather than a much older comment; keep doing this overview nations. For such a gem of a game, there isn't too many informative people willing to spend time talking about how to play each nation to some extent or what makes them good or bad. As a more casual dominions 6 player who plays when they're on shift, I don't get to exactly learn the meta too well. Thanks for the vids bro, gonna probably watch them all.

The whole idea behind the nation overview series is to try and break down a nation and give you a good idea of what you're working with, if it's helped you then it's done exactly what I wanted it to. oh it was! and thanks for the pronunciations, i mentioned before about sidhe, i believe it was, but had no idea about tuatha! I had been going off of Miracle of Sound’s pronunciation in their song Cù Chulainn, which was exactly how it was spelt. I love this language, coming from someone that is just learning! oh, and thanks again for all your videos, hilarious and informative!

Sidhe lords are actually very strong thugs even without gear. Displace body+shroud of bewilderment+dance of ephemeral swords+barkskin script with party of 2-4 of lords were able to easily beat barbs and heavy cav indies for me plus they easily beat pd. Though they need more numbers or some other help against big number of archers.
