I was very lucky to see Stan at his best for QPR in the 70s. He's far more loved at Loftus Road than Rodney Marsh.

Ah Shanksey, (well done mate) so sorry to have missed this event; I remember the days when I used to drive you and Bowlesy (in my red Ford Escort) to Watford dogs after training at Greenford. Did either of you ever learn to drive? :) :) Steve Jones

I didn't know about this. When was a football mad kid in Bristol, Stan was one of the great ones I'd watch whenever I could. Such a stylish striker. Look at any photo...poise. Didn't hurt that he was a total non conformist as well! RIP Bowlsey.

Stan Bowles should've had more games with the England team, but they were too snobby to let him play. Well, it was their loss. He's not the only player who was treated badly.

You help hopeless cases like Stan Bowles and Paul gasgoine and they still end up in the shit.......you can’t help people who are selfish gambling, booze, cigarettes etc and they throw it back in your face....waste of time......
