An Australian here that is seriously looking at a Kubota tractor (with loader & bucket), but just a little nervous about disconnecting & reconnecting the front end loader. I must say that your excellent demonstration, along with points to be careful about, has me feeling far more confident. I especially liked your 'real time' demo at the end. 🚜👌Thank you!!

Thanks for the excellent explanation. I detached the loader and mowed the grass. But have yet to reattach it… but when I do, I’ll celebrate with a beer

I agree. Flat Level surface is a must! My compact is much older. Yours is so easy. I have to manually release each hydraulic hose, leg, and pull pins to unhook from the loader.

I switched my hydraulic connections to individual connectors so they don't leak anymore.

Thanks for the "push against the bucket" tip! I'll have to try that next time I drop the bucket... I've had nothing but trouble getting the right (coupler) side to catch/lock when reattaching.

Ok I haven’t been able to reconnect the hydraulic’s without shutting tractor down and moving the 4way lever around. But when wife gets done mowing 2ish acre’s I will try again. Got 53 hours on bx2380 and have had it for 2 months now. Been work that little beast with no problems what so ever on the new property. Thank you for tips and God bless

So I will tell you, it is probably safer to shut it down. I’ve had mine leak and have to shut it down and disconnect and reconnect doing that. When I’m in a hurry, sometimes I do still do it running though…

@@PeeksPeakHobbyHomestead I tried it again. I guess my kubota needs shut down and relieve pressure on hydraulic systems. I run it till engine warm no matter what I’m doing with it. I thank you for your tips and techniques on how to operate the kubota and I will always try and watch videos if possible. Just got a mess of a house and 5 acres from family so real busy working and then working some more lol 😂. God bless you and yours.

Lucas: thanks for this and all your other videos on the Kubota BX23S. I mentioned back in May, yes how the time flies, a problem with my BX in not getting the loader back on. I finally had a chance to upload my video to KZfaq with the problem. I'll attach my video below. Feel free to use any part of my video to make a future video to inform your subscribers of this problem. I'm just glad I didn't ruin my loader by bending anything on it. Spread the word, Ken from Orlando.

Great video!! I struggled with r & r of loader when I 1st got my 2680. I had to call my dealer once to send a technician out to help me.., I had the tractor angled & passed the loader arms, a big mess… main issue was uneven ground!!! ‘Practice makes perfect’

Lucas: you make it look so easy. The firt time I took mine off, for the winter, I put it on a pallet. Well when I went to put it back on, in the spring, I put everything through the pallet. Crushed the slates. Now the arms were on a slant and nothing would line up. Spent about 1/2 hour totally frustrated. My son was trying to help also. I guess my neighbour heard the discussion and walked over to help. 5 minutes later I was up and running again. He has taken his off many times and helped us get it back. This winter I will make a really good flat surface. Thanks for you video. Take care and stay safe.

It's true, no big deal removing and putting on. Only once did I get into a mess, and one of the loader legs sunk into the grass. That was a pain. Always use a hard surface when removing the loader

Smooth level ground can not be emphasized enough. You'll get all sorts of frustration if the ground is just a little off. I used to park the loader somewhere out of the way when I was mowing, and would leave it off. I've given up on that, and now drop the loader on the driveway, mow, and put it back on when I"m done - just because the driveway is the smoothest spot on my property. One of these days, I'll build a tractor shed with concrete pads for the loader and backhoe. Most of the time I use the loader, it is to balance a 3pt implement. If I didn't need it as ballast, I would go months without it. I've looked into getting some front weights, which would be much better for my purposes, but haven't found anything I could take on/off easily at a reasonable price.

I put grease at the attachment points to ease on the metal to metal wear. Also be meticulous cleaning the manifold or you will fight leaks.

I literally take my loader off and on every week like you. I use it to get under the mower deck to wash it every week. I do turn my engine off and work the control stick to unload the hydraulic pressure before disconnecting though.

Had the front end snowblower on for the winter, time to put the loader on every year have trouble with the hydraulic quick attach getting it down all the way. This year won't go down even tried stepping on it and yes everything is super clean. Any tips or suggestions 🤔👍
@PeeksPeakHobbyHomestead
@PeeksPeakHobbyHomestead 3 ай бұрын
Has to be pressure in the loader hoses. Wrap a rag around the fittings and crack them open to relieve the pressure. That’s where I would start.

The purpose of turning off the tractor is so you can release the hydraulic pressure. Probably why you had a leak. I do not lay the bucket flat when removing I tilt a little in the dump position which gives me more clearance to back out.

Your tip to use a fence post to help with that last little bit to click in, was on the money! Even with a flat level surface I'm batting about .250 piss poor design. So frustrating.

New viewer and Subscriber. I appreciate this video and that plastic fan replacement one as well. I'm hoping to never have to remove my loader even if it is easy mostly because I own a big zero turn mower which beats any tractor for mowing. I do have one small little question on that real time removal at the end. Why did you extend your leg outside of the tractor at 7:20? Is this a safety thing?
@PeeksPeakHobbyHomestead

Thank you! Lol. Actually, if you notice I moved the bucket up and down because the loader arms didn’t immediately release from the cradle. I thought I was going to have to hop off and lift up on it.
