Houses are relatively cheap in Nigeria but the realtors are making Lagos house haunting difficult for people. They are inflating the price by huge percentages and scamming people thereby. It is a big problem that needs to be addressed by the government else many people are going to face more challenges being scammed of their hard earned money. The government needs to start encouraging massive modern and well built houses in Nigeria, most especially, in Lagos. Most developers are building trash just to rip people off. I hope this is settled once and for all by the government and get rid of the touts parading themselves as realtors in Nigeria. Thank you, sir and ma'am.

Thank you so much for your insightful comment, and I can't agree with you more! 🙏🏼 Honestly when I was coming from Korea, I wasn't expecting the prices of houses for rent to be as high as they are. House finding in Lagos was very difficult for many reasons and what made it worse was the lack of reliable information - which was what just about everyone I spoke to said... So a lot of us are left without a choice but to rely on realtors alone, and you already mentioned they're just worsening the situation in Nigeria. I wish government would step in but highly doubt it will.... what else can be done..? 😔 Thank you again for your comment. 🙏🏼

Here's a secret. You don't have to deal with agents, particularly on the island. You drive around and call the number you see on the "To Let" sign. Majority of the numbers actually belong to the owner disguising as an agent/lawyer. They do this in order to collect landlord rent, legal and agency fee from you. Atleast, you will not be handing your money over to the wrong person. The island has more vacant apartments for sale and for rent than the mainland. In addition, don't ever deal with an agent with no phisically established location because the majority have nothing to offer but are just looking to scam you out of "AGENCY FEE" with no guarantee at the end. It's better to handle your own business to avoid being scamed. Good luck!

Honestly. Obviously it seems to me Nigerians are also sick of realtors here. What's the best way to find houses? We relied on that website mainly cuz we didn't have much reliable connections in the area we searched - although we ended up finding a house outside the website 😂

@@reneeshakara No, we’re not renting we have bought our own house(s) and land(s) here. Anything to do with houses is definitely a tedious venture though lol renting or buying!

It takes so many jobs to survive in Nigeria because things like this will frustrate you. I really wish the government could regulate how this realtors hike the pricing units of houses in Lagos and in general. It just shows the level of greed by those people.

oh my advanced welcome to Lagos!! Oh, 2 b/r with 2-4m will be not easy.... you can search '1004' as I heard from one of my Indian friends the affordability of this place.. other than that, I am not sure! 🤔🙏🏼

You can find a good house at Ikeja GRA, ilupeju or Surulere even a cheap house at lekki 😊

I have found Lekki to be cheaper in general than ikeja. But trying to move around in Lekki is very crazy, that expressway is very very congested. But you’re closer to the beach 🏝️ 😜
