KEY TAKEAWAYS
Intermittent fasting involves extending the period of time when you're not eating, and it can be a lifestyle approach to improve health and lose weight.
Fasting has various health benefits, including lowering inflammation, promoting autophagy (the body's recycling and upcycling system), and improving metabolic flexibility.
Clean fasting refers to avoiding anything that can raise insulin levels during the fasting period, such as sweeteners, creamers, and protein sources.
During the fasting period, you can have plain water and black coffee, as the bitter flavour profile of coffee does not trigger an insulin response.
Intermittent fasting can lead to changes in taste preferences and a shift towards healthier food choices over time.
BEST MOMENTS
"Fasting is anti-inflammatory. It lowers that state to the level that is healthy instead of that unhealthy high level."
"Your body is not going to flip the metabolic switch to burning your own fat if it has other fuel sources coming in."
"You're going to feel so much better without it. And you just hold your nose and drink it black until suddenly you no longer have to hold your nose."
"Real food is always going to be better for your body. The higher quality our food, the better."

Cardio and weights have excellent studies pointing at longevity when correctly. Swimming is awesome but often not enough for most people.

I am still trying to figure out how to become fat adapted. I followed the fast like a girl and it’s a hot mess. I was doing fine eating plant based and figure I will try the 3day reset. Started having panic attacks all over again. I am trying to find my fasting sweet spot. I have heard you say you’ve yo yo dieted and I have as well, but am I just that too far gone?!! I just don’t get why it’s not working for me too.

I eat my first nutritious meal between 11/1 then my second between 3/5 and that’s it!.. Just plain water or black coffee in my fasting window. I’ve cut out all ultra processed foods and no longer eat refined sugar. The problem I see with people trying to eat healthy is they’re always subconsciously still looking for that little cheat/treat!.. The questions I constantly see asked are…. Can we eat this? or can we drink this?.. Well I say to people, stick to the guidelines of fasting, for example my nutrition plan and you’ll feel amazing, and will be as healthy as you possibly can!.. 💙👍🏼

Brilliant point. I would add to that to work with the subconscious part that wants the cheat treat. Battling parts of us tends to create resistance and more of that behaviour and yet with some guidance that part can be upgraded. Thank you for your comment and it’s great to see what you are doing to stay healthy ❤️

I enjoy the freedom of sometimes just eating what I want. I feel I can keep foods cleaner most of the time but I also just don’t want to be too restrictive. And I like Gin because she understands we can’t all put the work in to change everything about what we are eating. We can easily do the fasting part. The eating part cannot be stressful for me or I will fail. That’s just me.

Yes! If I can do the clean fast, I just refuse to be stressed at mealtime. I can’t sustain that. I can happily eat better choices when they are available. But if I need to eat what’s there, I will

Do I understand correctly? At the 29:31 minute mark, a low-calorie diet prevents ability to burn fat stores?

It is confusing - one says how fasting is bad for female hormones which will lead to taking synthetic ones (I believe Gin is on HRT) the others- high fat carnivore is our diet to heal hormones and to feel our best 😭😬🤓

I challenge anyone to do this without caffeine. Substituting caffeine, a horrible destructive drug, for food is not healthy. You’ll end up with adrenal fatigue sooner or later and let me tell ya, adrenal fatigue is hell. Your life as you know it is over for the years that it takes to heal. Over the top fasting (every day) stresses your body; dumping caffeine into your body stresses it even more. The adrenals can’t take that for years on end. Be very, very careful that you don’t end up like me.
