@@JL-vw6wx My point is that the Yarbros are making it look like it could only happen in Mexico, highlighting it to the point where you should not come to Mexico for this singular incident, other than what you cook yourself, you can never asure the higiene of a product. I think in most countries outside from the US there is always more walking done. I watched one woman does videos about Germany after she moved to Germany and that was one thing she noticed about many everyday tasks. There's walking involved. Also meal portions are smaller in Germany.

Even when here in the US I always look around any restaurant that I walk into. One time back when I was in college I walked into one restaurant to try it out. As I stood there I watched how the store personnel were working. I saw one of the employees talking on the phone and she was rubbing her teeth while talking. I watched her hangup once she notice the customers coming in the store but she didn't wash her hands before greeting the customers. I patted my back pockets as if I forgot my wallet and turned around and left.

I came to MX way back in 2006, totally fell in love and began to make plans to spend a lot of time in my new home…. Currently I live in SLP with plans to make my next move to Aguascalientes. The big promise I made myself was that I would never say bad things about my host country. I mind my own business, I have brought my Spanish to 80% fluency. I figure it is my duty to pave an easy trail for other foreigners that will follow. I have met a hundred Mexicans for every Gringo here. You two nice people are advising people not to come to MX, but I do believe that until you learn to live like the locals, you might be be better off back home where I believe your happiness would improve your lives.

Thank you for being so respectful. This video was about balance and telling ppl to accept MX for the good and perceived bad... We love Mexico for all that it is and we believe others will too.

Starting remember why I once stopped eating out I'm talking in the US as they do things in the back kitchen we prefer not to know. Thanks for spoiling food cart future experiences, by reminding me how people gonna do what they do ignoring your or anyone else's health concerns. Having lived on and off in Mexico over a couple of years, I agree with just about everything you two have said. The criminality is no joke over in Mexico, on a whole nother level than many other countries. You make me realize just how much my feelings that I may have overly romanticized the country. My first Uber drive got in serious battle with local taxi driver who ran up on the Uber when I came out to get into the car. I was afraid to get into the car, the driver had to drive off with the other taxi drivers still holding on to his door. By my second visit to Cancun, Uber on longer will come to the hotel zone. BTW, I carry sheets with me wherever I travel to these days.

About food safety, what is safer? a poorly clean but organic food, or clean processed food with chemicals? A big culture shock for americans when they travel aboard is when they see that everywhere in the world people store their eggs at room temperature and not in the fridge, and that is because the US is the only country where they wash their eggs with chemicals and those chemicals disolve the natural protective layer of the eggs. Again, where is the food safer?
@TheYarbros
@TheYarbros 2 жыл бұрын
The food is safer wherever it doesn't make you sick. Organic or inorganic. Ppl from the US get sick when they come here and are not selective of what they eat. In the US food may kill your organs but you won't spend 2 days on the toilet due to poisoning. That was our point.

@@TheYarbros hmmm. In the US you do often hear or food recalls because of salmonella, etc. and people going to the hospitals by the dozen. But less preservatives in the food does mean that food goes bad quicker. So the trade offs are more or less balanced I think. Definitely taste-wise Mexico beats the US hands down.

A commemt on the 'quality for price', it is possible here, but I do recon that the way I purchased so here was different than when I did so in the UK. Here usually you need to go to the center of the cities, to the bustling streets and get yourself in there. You'll find all the quality items at accesible prices. Whatever you need: beddings, kitchen cooking equipment, electronics, absolutely anything. Most big cities centers have streets that specialise on something specific. I live in a relatively small city, where finding things was much tougher than say, Guadalajara, Queretaro or CDMX, but drifting, being patient and getting some miles down searching for items always led to great purchases for a great price. My family has Jewish ascent, and not to be stereotypical, but we have been always kinda cheap but tough on the quality of what we get. We've never payed high prices and yet gotten everything at top quality in a small town. It's just the techniques that change, but in time and asking around locals you'll find your good quality items for a reasonable price ;)

Mexico has not increased its debt before the IMF and the results are reflected in the strength of the Mexican peso vs the US dollar. You talk about violence? I live in Reynosa, which happens to be one of the epicenters of the US war on drugs, I would not venture to say that the situation has improved, but I can assure it is not worst. I would Not be so short sighted and foolish to think that the violence will be stopped by any political leader as long as the drug cartels are fueled by the infinite printing of fiat. food in Mexico i found it to be fantastic , and clean.... it is true i did not eat everywhere ...but all that i eat was good and clean ... i had not seen any problems ... for those interested in detox and healthy eating and natural medicine you can do that in Mexico easily as they have lots of fruits and vegetables , coconuts ...etc ... i would go to Mexico just for the food ... La Paz was best !!!

Exactly. I live half and half. Atlanta and Cdmx. Some things are so expensive in MC. My housekeeper gives me a list of what to bring back. She loves clorax toilet brushes! And swiffer too. Sooo expensive on mercado libre😯. But other stuff much cheaper. Izzy $40 per month. Comcast $140. Restaurant price is about %20 cheaper in CDMX. I couldn’t afford the Big Apple so I chose the Gran Nopal. I love it. No regrets 😊

thats awesome you guys are sharing your experience in Mexico. you need to venture out to the hood of Guanatos. I noticed you havent mentioned Guanatos. thats slang for Guadalajara, you need to hit up the barrios though for sure, people are warm, the food is cheaper in price and very tasty. you need to be drinking Pulque too, you need more Guanatos hood in your life.

Thank you guys. My wife and I are moving to Mexico in 3 years after we retire at 65. I have a Non Profit in Chicago and have helped Lower-income people (black, brown, whomever) for decades (Start a biz, digital careers, etc).. Looking to do the same there in retirement. I will also play Golf. :-) I taught that for 16 years in Chi-town. My wife is from there, so I am good and I also speak Spanish. This video was very informative because my wife is biased. LOL Is there a facebook page or network that Black Expats? Thanks again! I put you channel in my featured section.

In a prison are two cell mates looking out their window after a torrential downpour: 1st. Prisoner: “Look at all that ugly mud, and we have to work in it tomorrow! 2nd prisoner, looking up: “OMG, look at all those beautiful stars” ! ! In MX. I look for all the beauty that abounds….and the bad things are equal to all the bad in USA and the rest of the world…You two young people are talented, wonderful camera work, Likable, bubbly and special. But sensationalizing your material is not YOU! I like you or I would not be here! Don’t become targets by involvement in matters we gringos have no say in. I’m almost 90 and I am all over Mexico, and if I see you in a Centro somewhere in our travels I hope you will join me for a shot of Herradura Reposada . Happy trails!

Such great advice. Y’all make bad news fun. Food safety is real tho. And I couldn’t stop laughing when u were talking about ‘patience’. Omg. Folks need to take deep breaths and always have a plan B or just be flexible. Thanks for this video.

At least its open in MX as opposed to acting as if it doesn't exist in the USA. Same thing goes on here, its just more corporate and covert. In MX you stay out of politics and mind your business and pray you are not in the wrong place at the wrong time. We just got back from Guadalajara, it was really nice. Checked out Chapala, Ajijic and Jocotepec. It was all that. Can't wait to come back (next time its about Queretaro and SMdA). Its a universal principle but you do usually get what you pay for. What we found and observed (REALLY observed) in MX was for Breakfast, lunch and dinner, lots of sugar is involved in all meals. We usually only eat once or twice a day (starting at noon) even then we ate way more sugar there than we normally would (that mexican Gelato was the bomb, even had tequila flavor!). Its why alot of natives are over weight.

Big difference is sugar in Mexico is made out of cane sugar which is a little more natural than American hi fructose corn syrup 🤷🏻‍♂️

@@fergomez3817 the only exception we found was a geleto shop in Chapala had a cafe flavor sweetened with Stevia. Although high fructose corn syrup is not healthy at all cane sugar will still blow you up.
