I make videos games and sometimes play them. I had some incredible moments playing "It takes 2" with my daughter. People who critique "gamers" usually lack nuance and use the worst examples to prove their point.

Gaming is a HOBBY, it can be classed with (like what was mentioned) watching movies or series, reading a book, knitting, etc. It’s just a way to spend your time and unwind. If anything there could be a case for gaming because the medium is so vast. I could sit there an play a puzzle game that challenges my brain, while someone else could just mindlessly watch tv. Regardless, in this discussion the thing that should be more focused on is how much time we’re spending on these hobbies. Because any hobby can be considered bad if you’re neglecting your relationship with God and your family. But if you’re regularly spending time with God, making sure your house is in order and rendering to Caesar what is Caesar’s (doing your job) then I could care less how anyone spends their time (providing it’s not sinful)

Y’all need to hire someone to manage the podcast. If you guys posted weekly, and did shorts- the pod would POP OFF. You guys deserve wayyy more viewership.

As a former gamer, I understand both sides of this conversation. Yet, similar to the internet, this activity came as a double edged sword. I became a videogame addict. I experienced the side effects of displaying antisocial, distant, and selfish behavior if that makes sense. I became an unproductive youth. What I realized later in life as a young adult is, any activity that isn't moderated and monitored can become an addiction. There isn't nothing wrong with gaming, it should be moderated. Maybe, this guy was a former gamer himself and was condemned by his loved ones for his addiction instead of seeking deliverance. Usually individuals are hard on an activity or addiction usually were engaged in it. His attitude isn't Christlike. We should pray for him and encourage him.
