That’s amazing how much a proper IC lower the intake temperature and also keep it low. I’m about to upgrade my IC but will be using ATM. Also need to get myself a auto gauge just wish I had one so I could do before and after comparisons.

I can only think the crap intercooler was an M*C Lol Very informative no one else has done this. Does lag increase when you change the intercooler? Does it definitely need a remap once it’s fitted? Thanks again for the vid

Nah it wasn’t an m….c matey Tried to show as much as possible Wish I could make the quality better and maybe could do a remap but remaps ain’t cheap 😂

I've got a MTC intercooler on mine, will do some data logging and see how the air temps are with that :) It's got a fairly similar design to the Airtec part...

What was the MTC intercooler like ? I just put a Gravity one on and it’s worse than the small OEM one 😬

@@f1nn_media542 I think the MTC would be better than the Gravity one, the end tanks are more like the Airtec and a probably better at air flow than the squared off ends on the Gravity one. I've never had any issues with it (it is probably heavier than Airtec's), but I've never monitored the intake temperatures that heavily... the plastic end tank failed on my oem one, so it was a cheap replacement and has worked great with my billet K04 hybrid turbo.

@@f1nn_media542 just went to collect some data... Atmospheric temp 12°C, coolant temp 100°C, I was getting intake temps of 16 to 18°C while crusing, it would cool down when going quick, and I never saw any signs of heat soat... but all this data was collected with a cheap OBD2 scanner... so could be useless data...
