MTC Intercooler upgrade on my R53

Күн бұрынToday my father and i under take the MTC Intercooler upgrade on my R53. it already has a 15% pulley and a Milltek exhaust so we knew this needed to be done, if there is anything you think i could do better please let me know.

Watched you’re vid, ordered and fitted to my R52 only used the original rubbers mine lined up perfect just made 2 rubber mounts for the front bolts😊

i bought the same intercooler and i have to say that the stock intercooler is butter than mtc. For making mtc butter you must build a diverter. Without diverter is sure worse. i have ultragauge and i saw the intake temperatures on full throttle. Believe me you dont want to see the numbers.The best choise is an airtec or a gp intercooler. At high external temperatures (like 25oC++) all coolers are the same shit. Only at low temperatures you will see the big difference.

I have been told this a lot and have thought about putting the original back on, but at present the MTC is still on the R53. And with the current uk temperature I am just leaving the R53 at home as I don’t think she would get on with it well. Cheers for the comment 👊🏻

Thank you, I don’t know if you get any increase as the original intercooler is so good. But I like the look of the bigger one.

No horsepower increase in general but lower IAT temperatures is an improvement to performance and horsepower.

It fits fine, it was an easy fit, but make sure you do the side clamps up before the front bolt or it pulls it out of line.
