back in the 50's, my grandfather had the state (Texas) come on our family farm and dig a flood control pond. I didn't watch the whole thing, but they used a scraper to dig it out and then just dumped that to build the dam. The pond was, as you described, very steep at the dam into the water, and was about 12 feet deep in the middle. Eventually, the top of the dam wore down to the point you could hardly driver over it.

I thought Barny was going to tip over there for a moment at about 40.3min off the dam wall..... All good !!

That’s one of smoothest Volvo 220 I have seen. The bucket curl is a smooth as glass operator really good.

When I was a kid my neighbor had a business putting in sanitary and storm sewers so he had a bunch of big toys. He used to take me to work once in a while. Nothing made my little boy day more than spending it in a track hoe or on a big dozer. Chris does a great job giving me that experience many years later. I almost feel like I'm there.

After watching the Barney load test you can really see why all that root and brush mess would be miserable to try and burn.

Wow- that was scary on that last load. If you had backed up another foot, I think Barney would have become a side dump, but I am sure you were aware. Truck seems to be working well.

The body suspension looks a little looser than the other truck but hey ! At 65 MY suspension ain’t what it used to be either, but I still get er done.

I somehow missed this one in this pond series but must say, the old girl looks like she''ll turn out to be a worthwhile addition. Certainly sounds good, eh? Didn't see a tire squat (good call on the choice to buy with tires in such good shape) and with most of those major bugs worked out, the truck will save a bit of tracking about. It may look rough around the edges but with your eye toward maintenance and taking care of the important issues, I bet it'll serve you well for quite some time to come.
