British comedy is brutal. Only Ricky's humour is also savaging the reality of the industry to people who know what goes on but can't or won't acknowledge it . The faces in the audience are priceless.

We Brits like to keep quiet, for a while, then unleash an uncompromising assault on accepted wisdom. Gervais does it especially well, which is why we're quite proud of him. However, Gervais also despises anti-American chauvinism - common in Britain, and embraces an international, genuinely egalitarian outlook.

Amy pohler (ucb comedy) knew what was coming when she winked at the camera. The old timers at martin and Robert Deniros table genuinely enjoyed it like it was Don Rickles roasting them. Everyone else was nerds about it 😂

Had to look these up myself, but they’re hilarious when you understand: 2:30 was shade at the College Entrance Scandal 3:20 Ronan Farrow was the journalist who brought forth the Harvey Weinstein stuff. Basically saying he’s gonna out them all lol 4:30 LOL glad you got that joke. Kinda shows the diversity agenda from Hollywood nobody really believes. Ok I’ll just keep watching now lol

what makes it great isnt that hes edgy... its that you can tell he *actually* meant everything he said. I enjoyed your reaction Guys but you missed 3 early jokes by pausing halfway thru' the 2 sentence joke so you only heard the punchline which did not mean anything. For example, you missed the absence of Black Actors because of the inherent racism. Just one top and you will be fine. When you pause REWIND the tape by 5 seconds and you and your growing audience will not miss anything. Good Luck...

Yea, they don't really get it at all. Was starting to think I was the only one. Not to mention, they missed the whole Ricky Gervais Golden Globe train... was trending like months ago. And they think Kevin Hart was canceled, and not Ricky (Ricky's joke), because he's black. Like, wtf... Everything's either over their heads, or has to do with race. They literally have a convo about how to pronounce Ricky's last name, and then immediately after, Ricky says it for them, and not a peep. They can't even acknowledge they were way off, or be like, "Oh, GervAIS! Not far off." Not even willing to publicly learn. No worse partner for ignorance than arrogance. Last vid for me. I gave them enough chances. It's like, it's comedy y'all, not rocket science. I feel like I'm watching somebody dissect a frog or some sh*t. No humility, and a whack sense of humor.
